Bruce Wayne becomes concerned when some of his richest friends are seduced into a new age Brotherhood scam by Nostromos, a fraudulent psychic. Bruce joins the Brotherhood in an attempt to debunk Nostromos's claims. Nostromos, predicting the fall of civilization, urges his acolytes to transfer their bank funds to the Brotherhood's coffers. Batman exposes Nostromos's scheme to bilk the members of their money, and captures him after a chase through a planetarium. In the end, Bruce's friends learn an important lesson about where to place their faith.

| (To Nostromos)
Lisa: Do you know what my inner voice is telling me, Nostromos? That you have wripped off your last victim. | Nostromos: I can hear an inner voice! | (To Bruce)[/u]
Nostromos: The messenger of death is searching. It is crying out for you! | Bruce: Fault lies not in the stars but in ourselves. | Alfred: You gave him ten million dollars, sir!? To think I was fretting over the electric bill | Nostromos: That which you seek and cannot find is the seeker. You are merely the eye trying to view itself.
Bruce: This is awfully deep. |
| |
| Batman: I'm about to undergo a spiritual crisis. |

| Character of Nostromos
Nostromos is more than likely a allusion made to the real life prophecy teller, Nostradamus. He compiled a list of prophecies in his astrological publication called Centuries. This particular episode has Nostromos' character making random predictions and creating a following similar to the reaction that Nostrodamus received when he published his prophecies. |
