Dr. Gaius Baltar, played by Jim Callis
A renowned scientist whose theories and contributions are given credence throughout Colonial society. To his then horror he discovers that the woman he was falling in love with is a Cylon. He learns of this on the day of the Cylon nuclear strike against the Colonies but at least she died in the strike keeping the secret he was assured. To his further horror this same Cylon is still very much alive in his mind and influences his actions throughout most of the series.
