Yet again, the prologue and intro sequence are absent, the main cast displayed over the episode's opening scenes.

This episode sees the return of Kara Thrace.

Four of the Cylons known as the Final Five are revealed: Saul Tigh, Galen Tyrol, Sam Anders, and Tory Foster.

Racetrack: Yo, Anders! Do you need a frakking invitation? Move it!
Sam Anders: All right. No reason to get excited.

Tigh: I am here telling you there is Cylon sabotage aboard our ship!
Adama: Sabotage with music.
Tigh: I know, I know. I can't quite understand it myself, but there's too much confusion.

Baltar: The whole fleet knows this man tried to stab me through the neck (to Gaeta) and you missed! Butterfingers!

Tyrol: There must be some kind of way out of here.
Tigh: Said the joker to the thief.
Sam Anders: There's too much confusion here.
Tory Foster: I can't get no relief.

Tigh: The ship is under attack. We do our jobs. Report to your stations.
Tyrol: Report to stations?
Tigh: My name is Saul Tigh. I am an officer in the Colonial Fleet. Whatever else I am, whatever else it means, that's the man I want to be. And if I die today, that's the man I'll be.

Kara: Hi, Lee.
Lee: Kara?
Kara: Don't freak out. It really is me. It's going to be okay. I've been to Earth. I know where it is, and I'm going to take us there.

At one point, Galen, Tigh, Anders, and finally Tory recite lyrics to the song "All Along the Watchtower", a song written and originally preformed by Bob Dylan, but made more famous when covered by Jimi Hendrix.

The version heard in the episode was preformed by Bt4, brother of the series' composer Bear McCreary.

Baltar: The whole fleet knows this man tried to stab me through the neck...

Gaeta's attempt on Baltar's life occured in the episode "Taking a Break from All Your Worries".

Lee's long speech at the closing of Baltar's trial makes reference to specific events in the series. President Roslin's blanket pardon was issued at the end of "Collaborators". Helo and Tyrol's murder of Pegasus officer Lt. Thorne occured in "Pegasus". Admiral (then Commander) Adama's military coup against Roslin happens in "Kobol's Last Gleaming", part 2. Lee goes on to list his own sins: shooting down the Olympic Carrier ("33"), act of mutiny by raising a weapon to Tigh ("Kobol's Last Gleaming", part 2), and jumping away from New Caprica ("Lay Down Your Burdens", part 2).
