Episode Recap

Lee is still in disbelief at the sight of Kara in her brand-new Viper flying beside him. In the CIC, their conversation is heard, and a very emotional Adama demands that her recognition codes be verified and after confirmation, demanding they be double-checked. Helo believes it's her voice, but Roslin is skeptical and that it is a Cylon trick. But before the situation can sink in, Cylon Raiders are detected to be inbound. Kara and Lee fire "weapons free" into the Raiders, but the reserves break through and head for the fleet. During the melee, Tigh finds himself calmly pulling out a gun and shooting Adama in the right eye, to his and everyone's horror. However, Tigh snaps out of it and finds Adama barking orders at him to get "everybody that's ever held a stick" out into the fight. Though still dazed, Tigh relays the order. In the hangar deck, Tyrol gets the Vipers ready, though Anders is worried that he will sabatoge things, but Tyrol tells him to "shut the frak up" and, as Tigh said, be the man he wants till the day he dies. Sharon overhears the end of their conversation, but both realise that she is oblivious to their newly discovered Cylon identity and perhaps the other Cylons are as well. Meanwhile, during the chaos, the three women usher Baltar to an unused compartment on Galactica, passing by Connor, a New Caprica resistance fighter, who recognises Baltar. The battle in space continues with a wounded Raider spinning into and destroying the Pyxis, which Roslin notes had 600 people onboard. A basestar fires 50 missles, half headed for Galactica, which it can handle, but the other half is aimed at the fleet, so Adama orders they all be intercepted. During the fight, Anders tries to shoot a Raider following Seelix, but his weapons won't fire. The Raider then turns from Seelix to Anders, its pulsing eye focused on Anders's right eye, the iris flashing red, at which point it and the other Raiders break off and return to the basestars. To everyone's confusion, Gaeta reports this and that they've spun up their FTL drives. Taking advantage of the situation, Adama orders the fighters to return. Tigh questions outloud why the Cylons let them go, at which point Tory suggests that "something's changed."

Baltar is continued to be led by the women to the compartment that they share with several other people. These people look down subserviently from him before he comes across a small shrine devoted to him. Later, everyone leaves Baltar alone where he pleads with Number Six for some glimmer of hope, at which point one of his followers, Tracey Anne, finds him in what she perceives to be a means of prayer. She finds it beautiful, but that her prayers to the Gods make her feel empty. Through Number Six, Baltar tells her that it is because they are false gods and that there is only one true God. As he talks, Tracey unbottons her shirt and the two initiate sex.

Following the battle, everyone gathers on the hangar deck, staring in disbelief at Kara as she exits her relatively unblemished Viper, though she is embraced by Sam and Lee. Confused by everyone's reaction she learns that she has been gone only six hours while everyone else believed her dead two months ago. Cottle's medical tests clears her, but Kara accuses everyone of thinking she's a Cylon. Roslin presses on about Earth and Kara's story of how she came to it, though she doesn't recall the details. Though they are skeptical, she cites the photos she took from her Viper as proof. Back in the hangar deck her Viper is examined. It has Starbuck's same tail numbers, but in addition to looking brand-new, there are no entries in its navigational computer. With little else to go on, they once again suspect her as a Cylon. Lee believes that she maybe a sign on the path to Earth, but Roslin argues that she could very well lead them astray.

Alone with one another for the first time since their discovery, Tigh, Tory, Anders, and Tyrol talk about their their new situation as Cylons. Anders recalls the Raider's reaction after scanning him, questioning why it didn't shoot him and vice versa. This prompts Tigh to state adamantly that he can't be programmed. Unlike Boomer, they know they're Cylons and suggests they commit suicide if they feel compelled to act against the fleet.

Wanting to know if Kara is a Cylon, Roslin talks with Caprica-Six about the vision they shared of the Opera House and the identity of the Final Five. Caprica-Six says they were programmed not to think of them, but she can nevertheless feel their presence.

In the CIC, Kara goes over the information on Earth with Gaeta, but is frustrated because she doesn't think anyone believes her, still suspecting her as a Cylon. She tells Adama that with every jump they make on their present course, she can feel her link with Earth fading, and realises that they are going the wrong way. Adama tells her that Roslin feels otherwise.

Lee and Adama watch Lee's Viper gun camera footage of Kara's ship explode. The two discuss whether Kara's death and return is real or just a trick before moving on to Lee's resignation. Adama offers his son his insigna, but Lee turns it down, feeling more comfortable working within the government.

Baltar and Tracey Anne wake up to find the cult bringing in Jeanne's son, Derrick, who is very ill. With no help from medical means, she asks Baltar to pray for his recovery. Later as everyone is asleep, Baltar prays to God to save Derrick, offering his life for the child's, his pleas overheard by the others who are deeply moved. Another follower, Paula Schaffer, later takes him to the washroom and has him shave off his beard and cut his hair. Connor then comes in, appearing friendly, referring to Baltar as "Mister President". Connor brings up his son, Kevin, reminding him that he's dead, blaming Baltar and his police on New Caprica. Connor assaults Baltar while a friend holds Schaffer. As Connor holds a razor to Baltar's throat, Number Six appears to him, asking him if he was sincere in offering his life for Derrick's. He replies yes, begging for Connor to kill him. It is then that Schaffer frees herself, grabs a pipe, and savagely beats Connor and his friend. When the two return to the commune, they find that Derrick has miraculously recovered from his illness.

Kara sits in the memorial hallway, noting that her picture hasn't been taken down yet. She then tells Anders that she is now suspicious of herself. She thinks that she may be a Cylon clone implanted with false memories, but Anders tells her that if she were a Cylon, then she always has been. He tells her that he would continue to love her, but his pledge is not returned in kind when she tells him that she would kill him if he were a Cylon. Another jump and Kara gets another headache. She now takes matters into her hands, knowing that Roslin won't stop. She takes out Anders and several marines as she makes her way into Adama's quarters where Roslin is resting. The president awakens to find Kara aiming at gun at her.
