A Very Dark Revision of the Original SeriesRating: 7 likes, 3 dislikes
Loosely based on the 1970s TV series, the 21st century version has little in common with the original. Rather than relying on the not so cheap fall back of special effects, the new series starts off with an excellent pilot with great background music and sets the foundation for the development of each of the characters that will appear in the up going three seasons so far. Each character has profound human traits and personalities that you may enjoy or hate.

The focus of this new series is mostly on the characters and their personalities [or personality disorders as the case maybe].

Very very interestingly, as the series enters the fourth season, many views identify more closely and empathize with the cyborg cylons and dislike the humans.

My hat is tipped to the screen writers.... really I did not know how they were going to pull off a fourth season! Kudos!

Great characters brilliant actors.Rating: 4 likes, 0 dislikes
What I like about this series of Battle star is the development of themes that build upon the psychological aspects of the characters and the really great cast of very talented actors that bring an almost Shakespearean like intensity to this great epic as it quests through the universe after Earth and salvation for the human race.
It is just wonder full to see Edward James Olmos, such a familiar face in the background of many movies and TV shows emerge as Admiral Adama and give such power and compassionate energy to this great patriarchal character
I just adore the character Kara "star buck" Thrace played with real force by Katee Sachoff that brings a strong and conflicted heroic female character that ain't no lady but is all viper flying, hard drinking, fist punching and uniquely beautiful dazzling woman.
Jim Callis and Tricia Helfor as Giaus Baltor and The after image of cylon No six are an amazingly diabolical and extremely funny couple showing all the flawed obsession of insecure sexual control and fluctuating domination.
How heroic and venerable are Sharon Valerii and the noble Helo played by the beautiful Grace Park and the equally beautiful Tahmoh Penikett
Mary McDonnel is lovely as the beleaguered but determined Madame President Laura Roslin
Jamie Bamber as Lee Adama is great, especially in that courtroom scene at the trial of Gaius Baltar and that Lawyer guy ( who was that brilliant actor ?)
Michael Hogan as vicious Saul Tigh, just so annoyingly awesome.
Callum Keith Rennie as Leoben, really awesome again.
Speaking of awesome performance Michelle Forbes ( wasn't she ensign Rowe in next generation ) as Admiral Helena Cain was a fearsome and sinister character that is an unforgettable bad girl.
I have worked around many actors in theaters, backstage and making sets etc and out of all that I have a real appreciation of the art and craft of performers.
I love watching this show, a great and brilliant ensemble of awesome actors.

HOPE, keeps them and me alive!Rating: 3 likes, 6 dislikes
I have watched a few episodes of the old series and just found it not entertaining, this may be because we now are used to high visual effects. This revision of Battlestar Galactica has those effects and more. The miniseries was just terrifically done; it’s no wonder why the TV series emerged. The first season was excellent and even through most of season two. Season two's finale where you were left hanging in suspense until season three was a nice sight. Sadly this is where I felt it started to go downhill. For the most part each episode in season 3 lacks that something that makes you unable to wait till the next episode. There, however, were two or three episodes that made you wonder what was going to happen next, but nothing near of what season one or two had and out of the 15 episodes so far I believe the series to be in trouble. All the actors have done a marvelous job; I just hope that the scripts start getting a little more focused on the big picture instead of all the little tiny things; that just seem to tide you over until the next episode. My one idea for it is that they get back on the road to earth.

I would like to see them make it to earth before the series ends; this is probably what mostly keeps me watching, that undying hope that they reach earth and wondering how they/we would react. I believe if this happens it might bring that flare back that we were so accustomed to.

The end of another EraRating: 2 likes, 1 dislikes
Well, with only one episode left until the end of the series. I have to say I don't know if the writers changed in the fourth season or the writers strike just left the writers without the heart and interest in the series. Seasons 1, 2, 3 were AMAZING I just simply couldn't get enough. I would eagerly anticipate the next show.. such variety not only in the story, but in how each of the characters developed and changed from one extreme to another. I have to say that after this series ends, I can't think of any of the actors whom I wouldn't enjoy watching in another series. They were all a real treat. Which brings me to season 4, with actors of this caliber they deserved so much more then the writing of season 4 gave them to work with. I found a majority of the season dull and drawn out...... I understand there are only so many things you can do before the ship eventually needs to reach earth or be destroyed, but it really was a let down for us loyal viewer who expected greatness that was the first 3 seasons. The second to last episode although somewhat predictable was enjoyable and that's a real shame that out of 10 episodes this season only a small handful were worth the time to watch.

Hopefully the finally goes out with a real bang.
