The series was ranked the #14th top cult show in TV Guide's list of the "25 Top Cult Shows Ever" in the May 30th, 2004 issue.

The make-up crew spent four hours to apply Ron Perlman's beast make-up for each episode.

Tony Jay's (Paracelcus) voice was featured in the Disney animated Beauty and the Beast as the voice of Monsieur D'Arque.
