Beavis and Butt-head are watching a television movie called "Asbestos in Obstetrics" when the power goes out. At first they only think their remote is broken - they don't even notice their lights have gone off. Police begin to patrol the neighborhood announcing the blackout, and reassuring everyone the power will be restored shortly. The boys still don't understand the situation, so they begin kicking the TV, until Butt-head realizes the power's out.
The boys head out in search of a TV that works. Meanwhile the citizens of Highland are looting the downtown, which the boys think has something to do with a Midnight Madness sale. The boys come upon Mr. Van Driessen directing traffic because the power has shut down the traffic lights. He asks them to take over directing traffic so he can go work at the emergency shelter.
The boys just stand in the middle of the intersection and do nothing. Then they both start waving cars through in opposite directions until they cause traffic accidents. Car parts go flying through the street, and cars start piling up in wreckage. They see Stewart's dad in a wreck, hurt and disoriented. They ask him if they can watch TV at his house.
