The episode starts out in outer space with a bluish-colored alien ship being pursued by a larger reddish ship. The smaller ship takes fire from the larger one, but it manages to withstand its power and able to return fire. Within the large red ship, a profile of an alien commander known as Vilgax is shown, and orders his crew to disable the vessel to retrieve what he calls, the Omnitrix.
