On tonight’s very 1st episode of Season 16 Julie Chen revealed the first 8 houseguests and they all entered the Big Brother House. All 8 houseguests competed in the very 1st HoH competition of the season which was won by Frankie. Near the end of the show Julie informed them that there was not only 8 more houseguests that would enter the House tomorrow night but that there would also be 2 HoH’s this season each week. They were then told that a second HoH competition would be conducted during tomorrow’s episode and that every week 2 HoH’s would select 2 houseguests each for eviction. Those 4 elected houseguests would then compete in a new competition, as a group of 2 against 2 and that it would be called “Battle of the Block”.
Julie Chen introduces the final 8 new Houseguests who will be competing in Big Brother 16. The Houseguests enter the house, and they get the few remaining beds where some of them must double up because there is not enough beds to go around. They then introduce themselves to each other and the first 8 houseguests. These 8 new houseguests then compete in the their own separate HoH Competition, which was won by Caleb.
On tonight’s episode the 2 HoH’s Caleb and Frankie both selected 2 nominees to be placed on the block for eviction. Caleb nominated Donny & Paola for eviction and Frankie selected Brittany & Victoria for eviction. Caleb’s 2 nominees won the very 1st Battle of the Block competition, which automatically removed Frankie as one of the HoH’s.
The very first Veto Competition of the season airs tonight. The first houseguests to be placed on SLOP for the week will be selected tonight by the current HoH. The 2 remaining nominees Donny & Paola the HoH Caleb and 3 other houseguests engaged in the POV Competition. The houseguests took part in a spelling competition, with the houseguest who spelt the longest word correctly and in the shortest of time would be the winner. Four of the competitors mis-spelt their words, with only Cody & Donny spelling their words correctly. Donny spelt “Splinters” and his correctly spelt word had 2 more letters in it than Cody’s correctly spelt word and therefore he won the Power of Veto. Donny removed himself from the chopping block and Caleb replaced him with Joey who he had found out earlier tried to form an all-girl alliance.
On tonight's episode Joey was voted out of the house by a unanimous 13 - 0 vote. Joey had previously been elected by the public to become the 1st of 3 houseguests to be part of a secret alliance called “TeamAmerica”. The viewers now have to select the 2 final houseguests this week to become members of the 3-person alliance. Also tonight the 2nd HoH competition, named “BB Rager” was held. All of the girls competed against each other and Amber won the contest to become the 1st HoH. The second competition of the evening saw the guys compete against each other and Devin won this contest and became the 2nd HoH. Donny is announced as the replacement for Joey in 'TeamAmerica'.
On tonight’s episode the 2 HoH’s, Devin and Amber have to select 2 nominees to be placed on the block for eviction. Devin nominated Brittany & Paola (her 2nd consecutive nomination) for eviction and Amber nominated Hayden & Nicole for eviction. The 4 houseguests then must compete against each other in the “Battle of the Block” competition. Devin’s 2 nominees won the 2nd Battle of the Block competition, which automatically removed Amber as one of the HoH’s.
The competitors in the 2nd Power of Veto competition of the season will be the 2 current nominees on the block, the current HoH and 3 other houseguests selected at random.
Tonight is the 2nd Live Eviction episode of the summer and the 3rd HOH competition is also held to determine the next 2 HOH's.
The 3rd set of Nominations for the season are revealed tonight and since there are currently 2 HoH's each one must select 2 houseguests for elimination. The 4 houseguests then must compete against each other as teams 2 against 2 in the 3rd ever “Battle of the Block” competition. The winning team of 2 then is exempt from eviction for the week. They also cause the HoH that nominated them for eviction to be dethroned as an HoH leaving only 1 HoH and then the dethroned HoH becomes eligible for eviction should 1 of the remaining nominees be taken off the block during the next Power of Veto ceremony.
