Jaime Sommers is leading a normal life until she is involved in a devastating car accident. In order to save her life, doctors must use bionic body parts that give Jaime amazing abilities.

Jaime beings to learn to cope with her new abilities as she struggles with maintaining a double life, all while trying to establish some sort of normalcy with her sister, Becca.

Jaime heads off to college as she works undercover as a British transfer student in order to investigate a professor who may be selling neural implants to terrorist organizations. However, the seemingly straight-forward task becomes complex when Jaime develops feelings for Tom, the professor's assistant, who is also a suspect.

The Berkut Group partners up with the CIA to find a man selling a list containing names of both groups' operatives. Jaime and Tom are partnered up in Paris and must try to maintain a professional relationship despite their flirting. Meanwhile, Becca is arrested when she tries to impress a boy.

An assassination plot of the head of state is uncovered and Jonas assigns Jaime and Antonio to stop it from happening. However, after overhearing a conversation between Antonio and the assassin, Jaime questions her trust in Antonio, leading to a deadly confrontation. Meanwhile, Tom and Jaime's relationship continues to progress when she invites him over for dinner to meet Becca.

Jaime begins to learn how to balance human and machine while trying to keep a normal home life for Becca.
