| Show Tidbits | In an effort to show the duality of Black Jacks character each episode opens with a ringing phone that is always allowed to go to the answering machine. Black Jack who most of the time doesn't charge for his services still avoids human contact until he's sure about the case. Black Jack is one part cold-hearted and egotistical and still yet charitable beyond most people's understanding.
| In the Black Jack 21 television series it's revealed that Black Jacks name. Comes from his partially dark skin as a result of skin grafts from a black friend.
| Black Jack has made guest appearances before being showcased in his own series. One of his most famous guest spots being on the series Astro Boy. He and Astro Boy go back in time where Black Jack heals a medieval princess.
