Krista becomes angry at the precautions that Marcus has set to prevent her from leaving the house, which also makes seeing Blade nearly impossible. Surviving off of Blade's artificial blood, Krista grows frustrated with her life as a vampire, and believes her life is over.
Meanwhile, Detective Boone (the man who was turned into a vampire in the previous episode) escapes from the vampire research containment truck. Also, Fritz seeks vengeance upon Blade, who has been trying to learn how Fritz came to be.

| This episode marks the death of Fritz by Krista. | Krista has been keeping the artificial blood serum beneath the shower drain. | A side effect of the artificial blood serum is making food taste odd. | We learn that there are twelve "houses." |
| |
| Shen: (referring to vampires) If they've figured out how to neutralise garlic and silver, we're up shit's creek. | Blade: I'll have to ask Fritz when I catch him.
Shen: You mean kill him.
Blade: Catch him... dissect him... then kill him. | Marcus: Your life is just beginning.
Krista: My life as what? Some sort of a prisoner? My door's locked.
Marcus: It's just a precaution. Newborns sometimes snap. It's only until your mind and body reconcile certain metabolic changes.
Krista: Here I was thinking nobody trusted me. | Chase: Does the silver burn?
Fritz: No, it tickles.
Chase: I'm beginning to think you like this. | Marcus: Perhaps I haven't given you the proper respect.
Krista: Yeah, throwing me off a building was a little rude.
Marcus: Well, you were trying to kill me, let's not forget.
Krista: I haven't. | Shen: Fine, then I won't tell you that Marcus made reservations for two at Lotus.
Blade: How'd you find out?
Shen: Hey, it's what you don't pay me for. | Mina: What's with the towel?
Chase: (after Marcus thrusts his hand into her stomach) He's shutting you down. | Fritz: Like I said, things change. One day, you're scared shitless of a pizza topping or the silver fillings in some old man's teeth. Of the dawn's early God damned light. And, suddenly, it doesn't matter anymore because you're different. Because you believed in something. You helped make something happen.
Krista: What happened?
Fritz: Project Aurora. Five years and millions of dollars and a thousand dead vampires later... you get me. The vaccine's first success. And, where am I? In the basement beating meat. | Chase: (to Shari) You tell me who took my friend, Winston, and your boy grows safe and sound... cross my barely beating heart. Give me a name or I'll eat him in front of you. | Marcus: Fritz tells me you caught him in a weak moment.
Krista: Aurora? I want it.
Marcus: You what?
Krista: We should all have it. If it's everything that Fritz says it is.
Marcus: Fritz has no idea what it is and neither do you. | Fritz: (to Blade) Let's finish this. |
