What did you think?

personally, i'm not a comic book guy, so i'm looking at it strictly from a movie crossover - tv show point of view.

this is a show about hunting vampires, so i'm not looking for any life changing moments in it. that being said, i found it pretty entertaining. the action was good, but there were some spotty editing areas.

- kirk jones was ok. i did find him kind of bland. he needs to bring something of himself into the role instead of trying to be wesley snipes.

-jill wagner had the best performance in it. she was stunningly beautiful. i liked how they had her all plane-jane until she was turned and then she became all sexy. nice touch.

-i don't know what kind of reoccurring role randy quaid is going to have, if any, but they missed an opportunity to use a quirky actor. here he had no personality at all.

-didn't care for the fight in the hallway where bullets were flying and blade didn't get hit by any. stuff like that is getting tired.

now i'll leave with a question. do you think zack really was working for blade or was that just a line he used to get krista to help? zack sure seemed like he wanted to be a vampire at the beginning. i'm leaning toward it was a line.

I enjoyed the pilot very much, though it could have been better. Regardless, I became Editor for this series due to me having high expectations for this series.

I know that I've gone off topic plenty of times (enough to write a book, in fact ^o^ ), though the posts I deleted were not off topic at all, as they were discussing the Blade movies. While I'm completely open to negative criticism, saying that the Blade movies "sucked" is far from constructive. Also, this is the first time I've done this in a thread I have moderation powers over.

Then tell the posters that, don't delete their posts. Or post rules about where to talk about the movies vs. the television show. But avoiding confrontation and deleting posts is not the way to keep your forum in line

I'm a big fan of TV and films, if I like it I won't say anything really bad about it.

Yea we all have seen a scene where bullets are flying and no one gets hit.

Kirk didn't do a bad job as Blade. Where his Blade is softer and Wesley Snipes was tougher. Like when it came to humans helping out Blade (Wesley Snipes version) He would at first try to turn them alway. Where Kirk's just let Krista help right away.

The story line is leaves me wondering what Marcus is doing to the other Vampires.

Thats all I have to say for now.

I noticed that too, and while it didn't really annoy me or seem like a flaw, it was a bit peculiar. I wonder if Blade will ever battle comic book villains in the series (like Michael Morbius), or if he'll be merely fighting the House of Chthon every episode. While the House is interesting and the plots are entertaining, it'd be nice to see a couple of them stop by, as it would get sort of repetitive to have him battle them every episode.

I thought he would spend one season in Detroit, move on to a different city with a different set of enemies, but I guess not.

Did anyone else catch the reference that perhaps werewolves exist in the series?

The professor that Krista visited said that he specialized in vampires and his colleague specialized in lycanthropes or some similar word. Of course, the other guy could just be studying the mental/behavioral phenomenon, but it seems odd that a guy who knew that vampires exist would mention someone else who was also an expert but in a non-existent creature.
