As Ichigo and his family is going mouron there mom's death, he runs into the thing hollow named Grand Fisher. It hasn't been slayed for over 50 years, and he is the reason why Ichigo's mom died. As Tatsuki tells Inoue about her past with Ichigo.

Episode Notes

This is a remake of episode 8 and 9. It more follows the manga then the previous episodes.

The person in Rukia's flashback, and the quote is completed in episode 48. Is Juushirou Ukitake.

When Ichigo looks at his watch he sees the date "TH 16-JUN". A quick view of the calendar would put this in the year 2005. The other nearby dates for Thursday June 16th's would be 1994 or 2011.

Kon wasn't voiced by his normal actor, but none other then the creator of Bleach, Kubo Tite.

The major difference between the OAV and episode 8 and 9, besides Kon being voiced by Kubo Tite, is that Eikichirou Saidou wasn't in this episode.

Rukia jumps on top over the Grand Fisher and uses her glove to get shinigami Ichigo's out.

Grand Fisher is a hollow that has espace being slayed for 50 years.
