Samaritan - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
The scene opens on a subway where a group of teenagers come on the subway and one has a camera. He is video taping everything that goes on. One of them tells the passengers that the train is his and if they want to ride it, they have to pay the toll. In the midst of everything there are gunshots. Meanwhile, at Frank’s house, Danny is putting together a model and he is having a hard time. Jamie helps out. Frank walks up to Erin and asks how things are going with the divorce. Frank gets a call and so does Danny. They all leave and leave Henry by himself to put together the model. Danny arrives on scene and gets briefed by Hotchkiss that there was a lot of commotion and then gunshots. Danny sees the blood trail and wonders where the body is. Danny goes outside and Sgt. Anthony Renzulli and Jamie are there. Danny has a hunch and asks if they give him a ride. They drive future down and they find that the subways hatch has been popped. They see that there is more blood leading to a park bench. It is one of the teens from the robbery. Danny tries to get his attention, but he is dead.

At the station, everyone is on the case and Frank gets to his office and Chief Jeffords is there. They talk about the teens and Jeffords pulls up Steven “Handsome” Jackson’s file and tells that he is the leader of the group. Jeffords tells that Handsome gets off on the fear of everyone and that no one has ever caught him. Meanwhile, Danny gets in his office and the victims of the subway ride and he singles out one person, Denise, Lee’s cousin. Lee is the teen that was left to die. She tells that Handsome runs the district and people are afraid to ride the train at night. She tells that no one can catch Handsome and that he will just get away. Erin walks up to Jamie outside and asks if he is alright with everything and he tells that he and Sidney are having issues but they are fixing things. Meanwhile, Danny and Hotchkiss meet with Sgt. Gormley and tell him about what is going on and there is possible that one of the victims had a gun. Hotchkiss tells that she still has two to interview. The video of the incident is on the internet and Frank wants to know where it came from and they don’t know but only that it is on gang sites and that is all.

Back at the station, Danny is watching the video and tells that he wants stills taken from it. Hotchkiss is interviewing another victim and she tells that there was a passenger that shot one of the kids. Danny takes her to the video and she points out a passenger with his hand in his pocket. At Frank’s office, they want to know who the Good Samaritan shooter is. At the station, Danny and Hotchkiss see the breaking news where Kelli Davison has an exclusive interview with Oliver Young, the Subway Samaritan. Danny tells that they need to get to him first. Frank calls Kelli and tells that he wants to see her and she agrees. Danny and Hotchkiss meet with Oliver Young and he confesses to everything despite the advice of his lawyer. They tell Sgt. Gormley and he tells Danny to process Young and puts Hotchkiss back on the robbery part of it. Danny doesn’t feel right arresting him because he is considered a hero for standing up to Handsome. Sgt. Gormley tells that the law is not bias. An officer tells that Danny has someone waiting for him outside. Denise talks to Danny and tells that Lee didn’t even want to be in the gang, but Handsome needed crew members and you either join or get killed. She tells that she knows where they hideout. They arrive and arrest all the crew that are in the hideout. One problem though, Handsome is not there.

At the station, they are trying to question Dante Vantos and he lawyers up. At Frank’s house, Henry tells that he doesn’t blame Young for shooting and that he would have done the same. The talk goes back and forth from not having legal rights and Danny asks what Erin thinks of Blake Phelps taking up the Samaritan case. She tells that he is a lawyer that wants results. In the kitchen, Danny asks if there is a way of dismissing the charges because of forgetting to Mirandize Young or something. She tells that he can’t do that. Frank comes in and tells that he has to agree with his sister but tells that he has to prove things. The next morning, Frank and the rest are watching a video that Kelli Davison brought in and it is Handsome making a threat that he is going to hit another train tonight and that it is going to be a lot worse. Frank asks if she can keep it private and she tells that she will only if she can have a chance to be there when they make the arrest. Frank tells that she can’t and she tells that she has no choice then to make it public. Frank tells that he want everyone on this and to have them watch the subways. Sgt. Renzulli and Jamie get out of the car and he warns Jamie not to be like his brother Danny. He tells that he is a loose cannon and that it is hard to trust him.

Erin walks down a hall and meets up with Frank. He tells that he found a letter that Erin wrote a while ago and that it was her mother that got her. Erin reassures him that he knows her perfectly. Hotchkiss goes to see Young and there is a disturbance. Young has been stabbed. At the hospital, Young tells that it was because Handsome put a $5,000 reward on him. He tells that he should have done nothing. Danny doesn’t like the fact that Young is going to go to jail for sticking up against a criminal. Hotchkiss and Danny map out the pattern of Handsome’s subway attacks. Danny tells that Lee went somewhere to hide out and Handsome found him. They find that there is a subway there too. At the subway station, Handsome is waiting to board the subway and Danny comes out and asks if he has seen Handsome in the movies. He runs away and Danny catches him. Frank gets a call and so does Kelli Davison. He tells that he doesn’t want to cost Kelli her job. Jamie is on a rooftop and Agent Anderson comes up and asks if he can help find Joe’s real killers and Jamie tells that he is only a rookie. At a pier, Erin finds Danny and she tells that Phelps doesn’t want to charge Young and he is only going to give him probation for the gun charge. The episode ends with Danny and Erin going out for a beer.
