Episode discussion for: 01x03 | Priviledge (Oct 08, 2010)

Is it me, or does this episode seem to be a re-hash of an earlier Law & Order episode? Seems to me I remember an L&O where they went after a diplomates son for rape or assault or some such and had to trick him by using his mother to reject his diplomatic status.

in Blue Bloods defense... i don't think there's any new crime stories to tell after L&O, L&O SVU, and L&O Criminal Intent. i'm sure i could find a similar story no matter what BBs does.

I seem to remember CSI: Miami did that story, too.

That's a good point. There have been so many crime shows in the past 20 years that it's pretty much impossible to come up with an original idea. There's shows like CSI and Law and Order that have been making episodes for well over 10 years. I really feel like crime shows have been done to death in recent years.

agreed.

but i still like them. but now it's not story or action driven for me. i continue to watch ones with good characters and good character development. some shows are cast well and some are befuddling. Bones is a good example. the stories are good but nothing all that amazing, but the character interaction is what keeps it on the small screen. Castle is another. i guess, i now like the ones that are ridiculous in premise, but acted so well that it doesn't matter.

i'm giving BB a shot because Magnum is in it and i'm test driving Detroit 187 because i support michigan and Detroit needs all the help it can get... and i like the gritty way in which it is shot.

I agree with all of you, but you would think the Dad(Selleck) would be in trouble for killing the milk man in this family, wish they could try to make a family somewhat believable!
