My Funny Valentine - Recap

The scene opens with a woman named Elaine asking her daughter, Chloe to put in her retainer. She leaves and there is a man at the door, it is Roger, Elaine’s ex-husband. She gets in the car. Meanwhile, Erin tells Rossellini that everything is going great. He tells that he saw an old picture of Erin. Nikki comes in and sees them flirting and Nikki tells that she has seen him before. Rossellini asks if it was “Dancing with the Stars” and tells that he could move. Later, Chloe and her friend walk from school. They separate and a van pulls up and nabs Chloe. Roger is on the phone when he gets a call from Chloe, but it is a ransom call asking $5 Million in diamonds. The kidnapper tells him not to call the cops.

Danny arrives at Roger’s house and Elaine and Roger tell that the diamonds are ready and Danny and Curatola ask if anything comes to mind of who would have done this. Vanessa, Roger’s girlfriend comes up and Curatola asks if she lives there. Roger takes the defense and Curatola tells that she is trying to get the full story. Lila was the girl she was walking with and they tell that Chloe doesn’t have any other friends that she hangs around. At Frank’s office, the cleaning lady, Inez, breaks a mug of his and she tells that she is sorry. Frank realizes that she is upset and Inez tells that Eddie, her son, was arrested. She tells that he is innocent and Frank tells that he cannot interfere and Inez tells that she would never ask that of him. She leaves.

Danny tells that Chloe’s phone records are from a burn phone that no one knows. Renzulli asks Jamie if he has plans ever since Sidney broke up with him. Renzulli tells that he has plans to cook his wife dinner. Danny and Curatola talk to Lila and ask about the phone calls. She tells that she doesn’t know, but she is hiding something. She tells that her boyfriend, Drew, has been talking to Chloe. He is 19 and doesn’t go to college. She shows a picture of Drew and tells Lila to take it easy. Danny waits for the kidnappers to call and Curatola tells that Drew is still seeing Chloe. The kidnapper calls and tells Roger the instructions. Later, Roger goes to the drop off and Danny and Curatola are with the rest of the team running surveillance. They tell Roger that no one will suspect them. A man in a yellow hat walks up and Roger tells him to bring back his daughter. He tells that he doesn’t know what he is talking about and walks away with the diamonds. He walks off and Danny and Curatola follow him. He looks around as if waiting for someone. He attempts to look at the diamonds and Danny tackles him.

Baker tells his assistants to go get a cup of coffee around the corner. He tells that he is only going into a bakery, but Baker knows better, she tells that he has 10 minutes. He goes into the bakery and meets with Detective Ryan, the arresting officer of Eddie, Inez’s son. Frank tells that he knows the mother and that it is important to exonerate an innocent man and gives her the choice to take a second look. Danny and Curatola talk to the guy that picked up the ransom and he tells that someone paid him $100 to pick up the ransom money and he tells that he only wanted the fix that he needed. They go and tell Roger and Elaine that they didn’t get Chloe because the guy was only the messenger. Curatola calls and tells that Drew has a record and that he bought Caviar and Champagne with his credit card recently. Danny gets a note that tells him that they found the kidnapper’s van. They go to the site and there are no prints on the van, but that there is wine glasses with Caviar. Drew and Chloe were possibly there and they feel that Chloe and Drew staged the kidnapping.

Everyone gets together for Sunday dinner and Danny comes in. Frank asks how it is going and Danny tells that Chloe could have staged her own kidnapping. The parents don’t believe him though. Everyone tells of their Valentine’s Day plans and Henry tells that Valentine’s Day was created by the Greeting Card companies. Jamie tells that Valentine’s Day is another day that makes the people who don’t have anyone lonelier. Danny gets an idea and tells that he has to go. Later, Nikki talks to Frank and Frank shows Valentine’s Day cards that his deceased wife, Mary, gave. Nikki tells that she made a mistake by inviting Rossellini to dinner. She tells that Erin and him like each other and it is only right. She asks Frank if he likes her dad and Frank tells that he has to go with Erin on it.

Danny and Curatola go to Roger’s place and ask Vanessa if she told Chloe that she and Roger were going to get married. She tells that she did and Curatola tells that Drew has downloaded movies that have the plot of a rich girl faking her own kidnapping to get money from her family. They bust into the place where Drew has been staying at and find Drew dead. There was a third party that turned a game into reality. They talk to one of the kids there and he is stoned. Danny recognizes the graffiti on the wall and the guy tells that it is Taze, a local graffiti artist that Drew gets drugs from. They get back with Roger and he got an email with a video attached to it. They watch a video of a man, who they recognize to be Taze, the local graffiti artist. They tell that they will get him. They look at the video and recognize that he is located nearby.

They arrive at the location and Danny tells Taze to put the gun down and let Chloe go. He steps off the ledge and commits suicide. They rescue Chloe and take her back to the station. She tells them that she faked her kidnapping so that her dad and mom would get back together. The two of them come in and all of the family share a moment. Danny is sickened that her plan worked. Later on, Erin comes into Rossellini’s office and tells that she found about tonight and says that she is sorry that Nikki put him in that situation. Rossellini tells that it wouldn’t be bad if he was Mayor, then he wouldn’t have to hide around. Erin tells that she has plans. In Frank’s office, he gets a call from Detective Ryan and tells that Eddie was innocent and says that she is sorry. Frank says goodnight to Inez and she tells that Eddie was released and she tells Happy Valentine’s Day. Erin goes to the dinner reservation that Nikki made and sees that all the unattached Regans are there. They celebrate their Valentine’s Day together.
