He says that he did a midnight tour and was tired. She says that he still needs to clean up. As he walks in the kitchen, he accidentally knocks over a vase. Danny goes to Erin’s office and is told that Erin was the one who dropped his case and suggests that they start shooting everyone in the streets. Danny gets into work and berates another Detective that left the tank empty and trash in the car. He says that he is sorry, but it is clear that Danny is in a sour mood. Curatola and Danny deal with a Domestic Violence dispute. The woman doesn’t like that Danny and Curatola are ignoring her over a cantaloupe issues and Danny gets upset and starts to arrest her. A man comes running and says that a man is chasing him with a gun. Danny tells the man to drop the gun and then shoots him. The man tumbles down and Danny sees that he is a cop. Frank gets the call and Henry asks how bad it is.

Danny and Curatola race down the road to the hospital and Danny yells at the Detective, who is identified as Detective Tedesco. They get him to the hospital and the nurses tell Danny that they have it from here. Danny watches as Tedesco’s family comes in. Captain Elwood from Internal Affairs comes up and asks if he can ask Danny some questions. They go to a quiet part of the hospital and Elwood asks him about the details and some of them are sketchy. Frank gets into the hospital and the press jump at the chance to ask him questions about what happened. Garrett Moore, the press secretary comes up and says that they have it under control. Frank tells the press that they have an officer down and says that they are dealing with that at the moment. At the station, Linda comes in and asks if Danny is alright. She can tell that he isn’t, but he insists that he is. They see a report of a Angela Jackson, the woman that Danny was about to arrest, who is telling the press that Danny was out of control.

Elwood and Moore meet with Frank and tell that they can sweep most of it out of the way, but Frank tells them to conduct a full investigation. Moore tells Frank that he didn’t like the way that he talked to the press and Frank wants to do the best for his son, but can’t. Moore suggests that Frank recluse himself from the investigation and he says that he has to follow it to the book. At the station, Danny shows Curatola that the man who said that Tedesco was chasing him actually had a gun that he ditched. They are about to go out when Sgt. Gormley tells Danny that he has to bench him. He says that the Commissioner’s office says so. Danny surrenders his gun and badge. Later, Frank meets Danny at the park and Danny tells that he did what he had to do. Frank sits down and tells Danny that he told him when he joined the New York’s finest just got better. He says that it is still true today.

Elwood talks to Erin about Danny’s mood and she tells him that he was fine. Elwood asks if Danny said that it would be better to shoot people in the street and Erin says that he was frustrated and just blowing off steam. Danny is working hard to try to find information on the guy who ran from Tedesco and finds a report about a woman screaming. Meanwhile, Elwood talks to Curatola and she says that it was a good shoot because Tadesco never identified himself. He tries to catch her in a lie and Curatola tells him not to do this. Curatola goes up to Danny and he gives her the address of a woman screaming. She gets there and the woman denies the entire thing. Curatola asks to use her phone and she allows her to. Inside, Curatola sees a picture of the woman and the guy who was being chased by Tadesco. It is her son, Tyler, and Curatola takes her in. Once there, the woman says that her son is on drugs and that he robbed her so that he could get more. They ask why she didn’t call the police and she says that it is her son.

Elwood continues his investigation and is over at Linda and Danny’s house. He talks to Linda who says that Danny was normal. However, he questions her about the broken vase. Later that night, Linda tells him that Elwood asked about the vase. He says that it is fine and that they will deal with it. Linda asks why Frank isn’t stepping in and Danny says that it would kill Frank’s career. Later that night, Danny is on stakeout illegally in front of Tyler’s mom’s house. Curatola calls him and gives him an update and tells him to get away from the house. He says that he is going, but he isn’t. Suddenly a police officer comes up and catches Danny doing an unlawful stakeout. Moore comes in and tells Frank about it and pulls out the alcohol and pours him a glass.

The next day at dinner, Erin, Jamie, and Henry all tell Frank that Danny is getting treated unfairly and Frank says that he has to do his job the way it is supposed to be done. After dinner, Jamie tells Henry that he didn’t pull his weapon even though it looked like he had a gun. Frank hears this and tells him that he should always do what they have to do in a situation. Curatola tells Danny when he comes in that they got Tyler’s girlfriend, Lydia. She says that she doesn’t know where Tyler is and Danny makes her look at Tadesco’s picture. Lydia says that none of this would have happened if Tyler’s mother would have given them the money. She says she saw the altercation and says that Tyler’s mother was the one who hit Tadesco in the head with a gun when he came over to stop it.

Elwood meets with a board meeting with Frank and others and says that Danny’s state of mind was amped, but since they know now that Tadesco was hit in the head and couldn’t identify himself to Danny or Curatola, Danny is telling the truth. However, with the charge of operating a stakeout while off duty, that decision lies with Frank. He goes into his office and closes the door. At the station, Sgt. Gormley goes up to Danny and says that they reinstated him to full duty and can go and meet Curatola. Danny gets to the streets and Curatola says that Lydia is setting up a meeting with Tyler. Suddenly, Tyler shows up and Danny chases after him. He manages to catch him with no problem. Frank visits Tadesco and he is recovering. Danny comes by and says that he is glad that he is a bad shot. Tadesco offers his hand and they shake hands. The episode ends.
