Thanksgiving - Recap

The scene opens with Mayor Poole and Frank serving Thanksgiving dinner to people in need and they talk about the threat that could become a reality, but Frank is trying to avoid the conversation. He tells Poole that it isn’t going to happen on his watch. At Frank’s house, Linda and Henry are going to prepare a turkey and Henry gets a platter that once belonged to Eleanor Roosevelt. Erin gets a call and tells Nicky that it is nobody. Nicky tells that it was probably Jacob. She tells her that it is none of her business and if she wants to take his call, she will. Jacob comes up behind Erin and she rants about it doesn’t matter how hot the guy is. Jacob leaves a message on Erin’s phone and she turns around. He asks her out to lunch and Nicky says that they would love to, but Erin says that it is a work day for her. Jacob says that they can grab and go. Erin finally concedes. She sees a man in a car taking photographs and wonders what that is about. Renzulli and Jamie work their beat and Renzulli gets a call. He tells the person on the They hear a scream and find that a woman fell out of a building window. She is dead.

Ayla Demer is the jumper and Jamie tells Danny that he was excited for Thanksgiving, but now has lost his appetite. Danny tells him that he is going to have to beat him in football. Danny and Curatola look at Ayla’s apartment and find that she was preparing to have guests over for Thanksgiving. Danny says that it doesn’t seem like a suicide. At Erin’s office, the man who was taking pictures comes in and reveals that he is Detective Deleone. He is watching Jacob for allegedly stealing art. He says that they have been watching him for 6 years and Erin suggests that he didn’t do it. Henry and Linda are preparing Thanksgiving dinner and Linda says that everyone is excited. Henry tries to pick up the turkey when suddenly Henry clutches his arm and passes out. Meanwhile, Mayor Poole goes into Frank’s office and he says that it is a serious threat now. Frank says that they don’t know that for sure yet and says that he is going to take the right precautions to make sure that a bomb threat is going to be looked into. Baker comes in and tells him that Linda called and says that it is an urgent family matter. Frank asks who it is and which hospital. She tells him that it is his father.

Back at the station, Danny sees a text from Ayla’s brother, Hamiz, telling her to do the right thing. Danny feels that they could be looking into an honor killing. They meet with the family and the mother tells them that Ayla wouldn’t ever commit suicide. Danny gets a text that Henry is in the hospital and it is clear that he is upset. They ask if Ayla had a boyfriend. Hamiz says that his name was Kurt Freelander. He says that he was a bad man. Danny shows a text that Hamiz and he says that he doesn’t believe in honor killing. Hamiz’s sister tells him he shouldn’t be accusing. Curatola goes up to Lia and asks if she wants to tell her something. She tells her that she has told her everything. Frank gets into the hospital and asks how Henry is. Linda says that he is alright and says that they were getting the turkey ready when Henry had a heart attack. Frank goes inside Henry’s room to find him sleeping. Henry wakes up and asks about Thanksgiving. The doctor says that they want to clear out the plaque in the heart and Frank is upset when he doesn’t know what medications he is on.

Frank calls Erin and tells her the news. She tells him to call her if anything is needed. Erin has lunch with Jacob and he offers to allow her to go, but she tells him that she doesn’t need to leave. She tells Jacob that she knows about his accusations. He tells her that he is innocent and says that he steals from people who stole from the families of the Jews during World War II. Danny talks to Kurt Freelander and asks about Ayla’s and his relationship. He says that Ayla and Hamiz were arguing and Ayla called him. That was the last time he spoke to her. Danny asks where he was when his girlfriend died. He says that he was with his parents at Radio City Music Hall. Danny asks for his parents’ numbers. He gives them with no problems.

Renzulli and Jamie get a hot dog when Renzulli gets another call. This time he yells at the person on the other end. Jamie asks what is going on and Renzulli tells him that he is $3,000 in debt to his bookie. Baker tells Frank that there is no need to raise the threat level and he thanks her. The doctor comes in and says that they are ready for the operation. Frank asks if the cardiologist is the best. She says that he is. Danny and Curatola go up to Kurt’s parents and they confirm that they were with Kurt. Danny asks if they met with Kurt’s girlfriend and they show the picture of Ayla. However, they tell that she isn’t Kurt’s girlfriend. Kurt’s mother shows a picture of the person who she believes to be Kurt’s girlfriend and it is Lia, Ayla’s sister. Danny says that this complicates things. Back at the hospital, Erin goes up to Frank and asks if he has eaten anything and offers to get him a sandwich. Garret comes into the hospital and tells Frank that he only brought him a clean shirt and his good luck. Frank says that he never understood why his father stayed at the hospital all the time when his mother was in the hospital. However, now he knows. The doctor comes out and says that Henry had a clog in his heart that is now gone. She says that he is recovering nicely. They are happy. Jamie goes up to Frank and offers to buy him a cup of coffee.

Caratola and Danny show Lia’s mother and brother the picture. They can’t believe it. Lia comes in and she tells Danny and Curatola that she couldn’t help falling in love with Kurt. She tells them that it just happened. They ask if Kurt saw Ayla this morning and she says that he was going to tell Ayla about them this morning. Back at the hospital, Jamie tells Frank about how he always hung out with Henry and Frank gets that Jamie is thinking of something else. Jamie tells Frank of Renzulli’s debt, but doesn’t tell the officer’s name. He asks to borrow the $3,000 from him. Detective Deleone comes up to Erin and tells her that there was a painting that was taken from an art museum and says that Jacob was there earlier. He asks for the help of Erin to take Jacob down. Erin goes into the room and gives the sandwiches to everyone. Frank goes out to talk to Mayor Poole and he gives Cornbread and Sausage. He asks if he can delegate his job to someone and Frank says that he can handle it.

The next day, Henry wakes up and the doctors ordered that Henry to stay. He tries to refuse, but Frank tells him that he doesn’t have a choice. Danny and Curatola go up to Kurt and his parents. They tell that they are taking Kurt in and also taking them in too for obstructing justice. Kurt tells his parents that he is sorry and that it was an accident. They tell him to be quiet, but he admits to pushing Ayla out of the window. Meanwhile, Frank meets with Renzulli and tells him that he is worried about Jamie and the fact that he told him about an officer who is $3,000 into debt with his bookie. He tells him that if an officer is like that, then they can compromise an arrest where there is a lot of money involved. He tells Renzulli that he should keep an eye out and he says that he will. Jacob goes up to Erin and gives her a picture of herself and Nicky. She thanks him and he apologizes for getting her involved with everything. He says that he will not stop what he is doing and will continue to give back the paintings to the rightful owners. Frank takes Henry down to the cafeteria to get a turkey sandwich. He complains until he sees that the family is all there with Thanksgiving dinner. They all give thanks and the episode ends.
