Episode Quotes

Hodgins: One man's security review is another man's witch hunt.

Booth: You got something to hide?
Angela: You better believe it buck-o.
Booth: What kind of something?
Angela: The best kind.

(Speaking to Dr. Brennan.)
Booth: The guy's supposed to be some super-rational, tight-ass geek... no offense.

Temperance: Do you think a corporation would actually kill a woman and kidnap her child?
Booth: Billions in dollars plus civil suits if they're found guilty? I've see people kill for fifty bucks.

Trent Seward: Carl Decker is not only a disgruntled employee, ah, what's the term?
Sharon Pomeroy: As a lawyer, the, ah, legal term is nuts and a pain in the ass.

(Interrupting Zack.)
Agent Pickering: Would this be a good time to speak with Mr. Addy?
Temperance: Considering you had to interrupt him to ask, probably not. Take Hodgins.
Hodgins: I demand a lawyer.
Agent Pickering: I don't need Dr. Hodgins. I need Mr. Addy.
Zack: If I demand a lawyer, will I get out of it too?
Temperance: In that case, we all demand lawyers.

Hodgins: Okay, so you're telling me that my toe chewing, moron cousin was appointed to a secret post in a secret part of the government you can't tell me about. So you compiled a secret dossier on me, but I'm the one who's paranoid.

Booth: We're looking for an abandoned gas station or mechanic shop off the grid. Ya know, you guys are geniuses.
Zack: How do we find that?
Booth: I work for the FBI, you idiot.
Hodgins: Way to go, Zack. We went from geniuses to idiots in three seconds.

(After Dr. Brennan makes a phone call about one of Agent Pickering's questions and gives her the phone.)
Temperance: Any more questions?
Agent Pickering: No... No, in fact, the entire review is suspended. I'm to wait here until someone comes to destroy my notes.

Booth: I used to do this kind of work.
Temperance: What, rescuing people?
Booth: Or being... the person they needed to be rescued from.

Booth: (Pointing his gun) FBI!
Federal Marshall: (Showing his hands) Federal Marshall!
Temperance: Forensic anthropologist! ...That's why no gun.

Hodgins: I know things that would curdle your blood, including a formula that literally curdles blood.

Agent Pickering: Didn’t I see you on television this morning, Dr. Brennan?
Temperance: How could I possibly know what you watched on television?

Cultural References

Zack: I heard someone found a a finger tip in their chili once.

This is a reference to an incident in March of 2005 in which a woman found a finger in her chili at a San Jose Wendy's restaurant. It was later determined that she and her husband planted the finger in hopes of swindling Wendy's out of a settlement. Recently, the two were sentence to 9 years in prison and ordered to pay $22 million in restitution to Wendy's. Wendy's official said they only look to collect $170,000, the sum of lost wages at the San Jose restaurant.
