Episode Quotes

(Talking about Christianity.)
Booth: We don't make zombies.
Temperance: Jesus rose from the dead after three days.
Booth: Just is not a zombie, alright? Man, I shouldn't have to tell you that.

Booth: This is the opposite of vacation. No wonder you snapped, went insane, and totally lost your mind.

Carolyn Julian: I am doing you a favor taking this case, Booth. But as that lady cop said, I am a prosecutor and as it stands now, I could try this case in my pj's and still get a conviction.

Temperance: Shouldn't you get to know your clients before you make snap judgments.
Carolyn Julian: Fine, stop me when I get something wrong - trained in three types of martial arts, two assault charges, registered marksman with the NRA, hunting licenses in four states...
Booth: You hunt?
Temperance: Only for food.
Carolyn Julian: Shot an unarmed man.
Temperance: He was trying to set me on fire.
Booth: All right, just,... just, arrange bail for us, Carolyn, so we can get out of here.
Carolyn Julian: Sure,... sure, don't want to get this one mad at me.

(Thinking of ways to help Bone's defense.)
Booth: There's the mojo bag. I mean, someone was trying to put a forgetting spell on her.
Temperance: Booth!
Carolyn Julian: Hey, I can work with that. This is New Orleans, baby.

Cultural References

Angela: You're hopping the Streetcar Named Desire with Booth?

A Streetcar Named Desire is a play written by Tennessee Williams that opened in 1947 about the attraction of a southern belle and her sister's polar opposite husband.

Temperance: Hey Bones, how's about while you're a murder suspect, you, ah, act more like a normal woman and less like Lilian Munster.

Lilian Munster was main character in the 60's sitcom, "The Munsters". The Munsters were a family of monsters living in 1960's suburbia. Lilian, a vampire, lived with her husband, Herman, who was a Frankenstein's monster type character, her father, also a vampire called Grandpa, her werewolf son, Eddie, her completely normal niece, Marilyn, their pet dragon, Spot, and a host of other characters.

Booth: Alright, great, then we just toss the ring into the molten river and blah, blah.

This is a reference to J. R. R. Tolkien's novel trilogy, "The Lord of the Rings". In the novels, the character, Frodo, goes on a journey to cast the One Ring into the lava of Mount Doom in Mordor where it was forged. This is the only way it can be destroyed.
