Brennan and Booth investigate the site of a train wreck where the bodies of a senator and a high-profile businessman are found within the wreckage. The businessman's body is found in a car on the train tracks, and at first glance, it is an apparent suicide. While investigating a possible connection between the two victims, Brennan and her team discover the businessman is still alive, but severely injured, at a local hospital, and the body at the scene is someone else. As the clues begin to unravel, the investigation gets more complicated when details of the man's private life are revealed, leading Brennan and Booth to a private detective who may hold key information. Meanwhile, Brennan is introduced to Dr. Camille Saroyan, a first-rate pathologist who has been hired as the head of forensics at the Jeffersonian, and more importantly, Brennan's boss. It doesn't take long for Brennan to figure out "Cam" is a little too familiar with Booth and that they share something of a past. Also, Booth encourages Brennan to visit her mother's grave site for the first time.

Episode Quotes

Cam: You look good out of your suit, Seely, but then, you always did.

Cam: Hey Hodge-podge, all engines reverse. First, we identify beyond the shadow of a doubt, then we get paranoid.
Hodges: I'm cool. As long as paranoia's on the schedule somewhere.

Booth: "Casu Cansulto", what does that mean?
Temperance: Accidentally on purpose.
Booth: Why do you know things like this?

Cam: If it happens again, I will take action. And I'm from New York, which means I will take New York action. Am I clear?
Temperance: Not at all.
Zack: I'm from Michigan.

Temperance: He's going to get away with it?
Booth: Well ya know that happens sometimes, Bones. That's that brown little smelly part of the job.

Temperance: Common Booth, the part of you with the big gambling problem must love this idea.
Booth: Right there!... That's the reason ya didn't get Cam's job.

Angela: He killed three people.
Hodgins: And put one in a coma.
Zack: Yeah, but Lynch deserves to be in a coma, so it doesn't count.

Cam: You put my people on the stand as expert witnesses and that's a sure thing.
Angela and Hodgins: (In unison.) Not Zack.

Episode Goofs

There is a new opening credits montage this season. The very last shot show, which is supposed to be Bones and Booth walking away, is clearly not them. The woman is most obvious as she has straight blond hair, where Bones has wavy brown hair.

Cultural References

Cam: We are going to find the details of Sen. Davis' death without giving Oliver Stone or Michael Moore any ideas.

Oliver Stone is an Oscar winning director that likes to do movies that deal with conspiracy theories, most notably his 1991 film, JFK.

Michael Moore is a documentary director who doesn't very much care for the Bush administration. He did a 2004 documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11, that alleges that the Bush administration used the tragedy of the World Trade Center crashes to further its agenda in the middle east.

Temperance: You should warn the addicts.
Booth: Ya, like they do on a pack of cigarettes?

In the United States, all cigarettes sold must be in a package that contains a Surgeon Generals warning about the risks of smoking. This warning is small and usually on the side of the package. However, in Canada, the warning is quite large and takes up a large portion of the front and back of the package.

Temperance: Common Booth, the part of you with the big gambling problem must love this idea.

In the episode, Soldier in the Grave, we found out that upon returning from the service, Booth developed a gambling problem.
