Jeffrey Coho [Episode 46-59], played by Craig Bierko
Jeffrey Coho is the newest addition to the cast of "Boston Legal". He is best known this season for the trial of Scott Little and for causing rifts with Alan Shore and Brad Chase. Coho has already been named Senior Partner, which also makes Denise Bauer dislike him. Later, Coho and Bauer became "friends with benefits" along with Brad Chase, who did the same thing. When Denise got pregnant, and Brad was named the father, Coho found that to be the last straw and decided to leave Crane, Poole, & Schmidt. He stated isolation as another reason to leave the firm. |

Alan Shore, played by James Spader
Alan Shore is an Associate at Crane, Poole, and Schmidt that tends to follow the beat of a different drum. He has a tendency to feel compasion if the person he is defending is actually innocent or needs his help. He is best friends with Denny Crane and as of late, hasn't been too fond of Shirley. |

Denny Crane, played by William Shatner
Denny is one of the founders of the Crane, Poole, & Schmidt who has helped build it up to the reputation it has today. Denny is a very accomplished attorney that thinks outside the box when it comes to winning over a jury or judge. Denny is quite eccentric and has a zest for life not seen in most people. His zest may only be overshadow by the sound of his own name. |

Shirley Schmidt [Episodes 11-101], played by Candice Bergen
Shirley may be the glue that keeps this firm in the upper echelon of the firms in Massachusetts. She is a formidable foe both inside and out of the courtroom. Shirley has a drive to keep the firm going because as she's said, "The name on the door is Crane, Poole, & Schmidt, and I'm Schmidt." Don't let her fiery exterior give you the wrong impression. Inside is a very compassionate person. It's her compassion that drives her.
Throughout the series, we learn little about Shirley minus the fact that she goes through men like "tic-tacs". However, in Season 4 she starts dating Senior Partner Carl Sack, and wed on the series finale. |

Brad Chase [S01-S03, recurring afterwards], played by Mark Valley
Brad is the shoot by the hip new partner in Crane, Poole, & Schmidt. His good intentions has laced a road with a few pot holes. Brad has an infallible construct of what he believes is good and bad. He is a staunch supporter of his country and it's policies, probably as a result of his service in the military. Brad also has a loyalty that cannot break. If you need anyone to go to bat for you, Brad's the one. At first, Brad was a fast talker among his co-workers, but eventually settled down. He also came from the D.C. firm of Crane, Poole, & Schmidt. He later had a friends with benefits relationship with Denise Bauer, who ended up pregnant with Brad's baby. They then got married and Brad left CP&S to become an ADA. |

Paul Lewiston [Episodes 13-68, recurring otherwise], played by Rene Auberjonois
Paul is the behind the scenes partner of Crane, Poole, & Schmidt. He doesn't spend a lot of his time in the courtroom. Paul spends most of it making sure that firm is in good standing and handling damage control in case Denny is up to something. If it wasn't for his silent contributions, the firm would be more like an asylum where the inmates are in charge. We learn Paul has a daughter who is addicted to illegal substances. Paul later scales back his workload to take care of his granddaughter. Carl Sack is called in to take over Paul's day-to-day job in the firm. |

Denise Bauer [S02-S03, recurring afterwards], played by Julie Bowen
Denise may be the heart behind Crane, Poole, and & Schmidt. She as the ability to get past the exterior of most cases and see the people they actually affect. She has recently been through the divorce with her first husband, but lately, has been seen around the arm of billionaire, Daniel Post. After Daniel Post died, Denise started a relationship with Jeffrey Coho and Brad Chase, calling it "friends with benefits". We later find out that she is having Brad's child, and decide to get married. |

Lori Colson [Season 1, recurring afterwards], played by Monica Potter
Lori Colson is a by the books lawyer. She is good friends with Paul Lewiston much like Denise Bower is in the 2nd Season. At the end of the first season she files a sexual harrassment complaint against Denny Crane. It is somewhat resolved in Season 2, when, for some reason, she is let go from the cast. |

Sally Heep [Episodes 1-12, recurring afterwards], played by Lake Bell
Sally Heep is a young lawyer who flaunts her sexualtiy to get the male clients. She has slept with both Alan and Brad which causes tension in the firm. When Shirley Schmidt comes in, she is let go from the firm. |
