When Ivan Tiggs wants to invalidate the post-nup Shirley Schmidt drafted so he can divorce his current wife, Schmidt finds herself in court, battling her former lover -- and his new attorney, Alan Shore. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Cohos persistence and ethically dubious tactics help him elicit key information from witnesses as he prepares to defend an accused murderer, and Denny Cranes petite Internet date, hurt by his comments on her size, pursues a lawsuit against him.

| Paul: (Regarding the media and the Scott Little trial) They’re playing this for all it’s worth.
Shirley: Of course they are, ratings for the war are slipping. | A.D.A. Jonathan Winant: Let me tell you something right now,iIf you start to intimidate my witnesses…
Jeffrey: Why yours? Do you have dibs? | Ivan Tiggs: I tried this time. I want to love her. I do love her. She’s just too much – too much singing, too much sex. I’m not a young man anymore and, well, there’s the fact that she’s stupid. | Ivan Tiggs: I told Alan my story. He’s agreed to represent me.
Shirley: That’s ridiculous.
Alan: I’m a fan of ridiculous. | Alan: Shirley, what you did to my client is unfair. I’m a man of principle… or not, whatever the situation calls for. | Shirley: Is your resume intact?
Alan: Shirley, you’re becoming retaliatory. It becomes you. | Denny: Take off your clothes. Let me see that little package.
Bethany Horowitz: You are the most disgusting, vulgar human being I have ever met.
Denny: You’re right, just the top, then? | Denny: She’s got a cute little ass, doesn’t she?
Alan: She certainly does.
Denny: Here’s to all shapes and sizes. | Jeffrey: The angry, bald little husband killed his wife... just like in the movies. |

| A.D.A. Jonathan Winant: He will never council you to give up his O.J. moment.
O.J. Simpson was on trial for the murder of his ex-wife and her friend. The trial was in all of the national media outlets and on the nation new scene during its duration of almost a year. OJ’s attorney, Johnny Cochrane, became a household name because of it. | Bethany Horowitz: Look at him. Did I get Mel Gibson?... Maybe I did.
Mel Gibson has widely been known as a very attractive and success full man, but he was arrested for a traffic violation. He was intoxicated and made disparaging remarks about the Jewish community while being arrested. His comments have caused him to come under attack by those that think he may be and anti-Semite. Bethany is Jewish. |

| Alan: Well, that’s private, but something I’ll continue to dwell on as I gaze at that lovely photo of you that hangs on the wall of my powder room.
In the episode, Shock and Oww!, Alan defended Shirley against a woman who’s husband had an affair with Shirley when she was young. The husband took nude art photos of Shirley and the widow now wanted to sell them while Shirley wanted them never to surface. Alan ended the dispute by buying the photos for his “personal” collection and promised that they would not be seen by anyone but him.
