Even if he goes crazy, I will still call Chris "Superman" |

After her father -- who is in the late stages of a debilitating fight with Alzheimer's -- injures himself and lands in the hospital, Shirley Schmidt wants to end his suffering and asks Alan Shore to argue in court on her behalf. Meanwhile Jerry Espenson's beautiful, new girlfriend sues him for sexual assault, and Carl Sack represents the island of Nantucket whose residents want to build a nuclear bomb in case of attack.

Mercy killing? Jerry's beautiful new girlfriend??? Nuclear bombs?????
I am so there.

A pretty decent episode. But I do wonder if all the talk about "Old Timers Disease" is a way to end the show. If this is the last season I do hope it goes out in proper style.
Daaaammn, Jerry is the man !!!
I see nothing wrong with so called mercy killing.
And the so-called liberal media does ignore some very important issues. |

I was expecting a silly episode, but really, this one was way more drama than comedy, and I still loved it. But then Alzheimer's has affected my family quite a bit, so it's a personally interesting issue for me. I thought Candice Bergen's acting was top-notch. Also, Alan's acceptance that he may have to do the same for Denny some day, and Denny's realization of his own future was very touching. For a show I watch for comedy, I found this episode to be quite moving.
Jerry... we HAVE to find out how he met this girl. That's crazy.
And I say if Nantucket gets the bomb, there's a few small towns in Idaho who will be clamoring for it next. LOL |

BL is a drama, with comedy thrown in. I think I have that right.
Jerry is da' man.
I want my own bomb. |

It was a very touching episode. It kind of made me want to sit and sob afterwards. Candice Bergen's performace was one of the best of hers I've seen on the series. Definitely Emmy material.
I loved the "During the strike." "What strike?" line. |

You ARE da bomb
And Jen, I agree. I fully expect the Emmys to honor her again for this episode alone. |
