Season finale, Alan takes a case where his "patriotism" might put a wall between him and Denny.
I like this episode. A lot of issues here about America..."torture used to be the exception to the rule..now it's the standard".
Denny was at least honest enough to be admit so many terrible things that America has done. The conversation with Alan and General was the typical sort of bs that people who approve war use for their critics. I like that Alan called into questions how principles and values have changed and how really those alleged principles don't deal with human rights violations and treatment of prisoners.
It was a decent finale. |

The episode was good, did raise very fair questions about our country, but I wasn't riveted. It didn't make me laugh much, like a normal episode. I rather missed the comedy. But good drama.
Nice to know the mad cow hasn't completely turned Denny's brain to mush. He can still turn it on when he wants to.
Was it just me, or did Katie look smokin' tonight?

Overall a great episode. Lots of good Denny and Alan moments, but I do wish that there were more comedic moments throughout.
The ending was perfect for a finale. |

Great episode. I was worried Alan and Denny were going to have a big strain on their friendship going into next season. Glad that didn't happen.  |

I wondered if that was going to be the theme of next season, them being at odds with each other.

It would have actually made a good series finale. I wonder if they were thinking that, when they filmed it. The show may have still been on the bubble then. |

Maybe, and I'm sure they were, and it was I'll bet.
I think the final episode should be Denny dying as Alan and him arm-wrestle in a sleep over. |
