Season 2 of "Boston Legal" saw many changes from the 1st Season. First, Lori Colson (Monica Potter) and Tara Wilson (Rhona Mitra) are no longer starring characters and Denise Bauer (Julie Bowen) is now added to the cast. Garrett Wells (Justin Mentell) and Sara Holt (Ryan Michelle Bathe) also appear for half the season. These newly welcome lawyers join Alan Shore (James Spader), Brad Chase (Mark Valley), and Senior Partners Shirley Schmidt (Candice Bergen), Paul Lewiston (Rene Auberjonois), and Denny Crane (William Shatner).

Highlights of the season include the case of the Black Widow, the introduction of Daniel Post, his cancer, and illegally being involved in a drug test. We also meet Ivan Tiggs, Shirley's ex-husband, who comes back, Alan who has a case of 'world salad', and even his night terrors!

Notable guest stars include Michael J. Fox, Adam Arkin, Heather Locklear, Betty White, Tom Selleck, Christian Clemenson, Larry Miller, Freddy Prinze, Jr., Parker Posey, Jeri Ryan, and Robert Wagner.
