Kid Gets Aquainted with the Universe is a parody of Boy Meets World. The actors names are also parodies: Ben Savage / Ben Sandwich, Rider Strong / Schnyder Strong. The show is also filmed on the same set as Boy Meets World.

When Eric is telling his parents about his performance, he says he has found his niece, to which they correct him that it is his niche. In the seventh season episode where we look into the future and find Eric to be a Moses like herder, he finds out he now has a niche, to which Corey corrects him that it is niece.
