It took me several months to get TV.com’s Brandy & Mr. Whiskers forum community somewhat decent, though I’ll do everything in my ability to revive this forum from the grave as well. I wanted to ask what people thought of the second season of Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, as the second season was much different than the first season, for the reasons you can see below.

In the first season, Brandy often tried to find a way back home. The entire second season ignores this plot and just focuses on Brandy’s life in the Amazon.

In the first season, Brandy had to explain many modern things to the creatures of the Amazon, as they had no understanding of such things. The entire second season ignores that fact and the animals now have malls, amusement parks and various other facilities.

In the first season, there was very little continuity from episode to episode. The second season has better continuity, using Brandy & Mr. Whiskers’ new home design throughout the season and making references to previous episodes within the same season.

In the first season, Brandy & Mr. Whiskers argued quite a lot. The second season has them getting along in a better fashion, despite their occasional dispute in certain situations.

In the first season, the series relied on gross-out humor in a decent amount of situations. The second season hadn’t relied on such jokes as often, though there were a few instances where such a joke was made.

There may be more, though I can’t quite think of them at the moment. With all things considered, I believe the second season was actually better than the first season. However, I believe it was a huge mistake to stop focusing on Brandy’s attempts to get home; I also believe it was a huge mistake for them to introduce as many modern concepts into the Amazon this season. You see, in doing such, they caused some continuity errors. In the first season, Lola Boa didn’t know what a mall was, so Brandy coordinated their efforts to build one. However, in the second season, Lola Boa told Brandy a mall existed all along and that she frequently went there. Such errors as that are one of the few problems I really had with the second season.

Anyway, back to the point of the topic. If you’ve seen episodes from both the first and the second season of Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, would you believe the second season was better than the first, or worse than the first?

I will say that the Second Season really turned me on to Brandy & Mr. Whiskers. While I felt the first season was terrible in writing quality, the second season was completely better. My only complaint of this series is that I wished they'd make full, half-hour episodes of the series, rather than two fifteen-minute episodes per timeslot. "Stress Test / A Little Problem" was a favorite of mine, as well as "You've Got Snail". The only episode of season one that seemed to be that of Season two quality would be "Two Heads are not Better Than One".

Have you seen the Christmas special? It was the only two-part episode in the sense that it wasn’t divided into two stories, so perhaps you would have liked it as well. Pedigree, Schmedigree is still one of my favorite episodes, though it was season one, so I feel season one still had a lot of great episodes. Season two had many more entertaining episode though, in my eyes anyway, as I believe some of the plots were handled with finesse and so forth. Truth be told, I enjoyed the romantic-themed episodes the most, since Brandy & Mr. Whiskers handles the subject more directly than most animated programs do. Loathe Triangle in particular was excellent, though I suppose I shouldn’t digress from the original point of the topic.

Thanks for replying, none-the-less.

Yes, I've seen the Christmas special, and while I believed it to have a good plot, honestly, I could see the ending from about half-way through the episode. Even still, it was a really good episode.

As I've said I really enjoyed "Two Heads are not Better Than One", which may even be my favorite episode of the entire series, though I can't say that season one had many excellent episodes. Though they did improve, and by the end of season one, the episodes were actually quite good, though the first few episodes were what turned me away from the series entirely due to the predictable plots. I guess I decided to watch it one day for whatever known reason, and it was quite entertaining. When I told you that I wasn't fond of the series (in the thread in the General TV Discussion), that was before I'd watched any episodes since the first few.

I agree, as "Loathe Triangle" was a really good episode, though I'm not one who's very fond of the romantic episodes, I suppose.

Don't thank me; I was merely stating my opinion in a thread that was interesting to me, which I feel most users should start doing.

I think the Second Season took the series up to another level as far as cartoons and animated series go.

I personally liked how the writers stopped focusing on how to get Brandy home, but rather focused on her making the best of what she's got.

Overall, even though I still have 3 episodes of Season 2 to see, it was by far better than Season 1, and it's a shame that it got canceled just when it started to improve.
