It is Round Two of the Semi-Finals and Britain’s Got Talent has a new group to decide from to see who is going to be able to get into the Finals on Saturday. With acts from: Taboo, Neil Fullard, The Ruby Girls, Connected, Kev Orkian, Michael Fayombo Jnr and Snr, Tina and Chandi and Maxxie Oliver, this is going to be a very interesting episode from the difference of personalities. The second LIVE semi-final kicks off and Ant and Dent enter the scene and talk about what to expect for the show and the judges enter in their best with a stunning gown donned by Amanda.
First off to start off the show is street dance group Taboo. The video of their story plays on how much they want it and they remind us that their ages ranged from ages 8-23. Simon reminds us as well in the clip that the first show was all over the place. But they are determined to show him that they can dance as a whole and not out of control. Dressed up in peppermint print clothing the choreography has improved and the “candy theme” seems to be the main focus of the dance. Very fun to watch and it shows that their heart was in it. Pierce said that they jumped into a new league and says that they showed that they rehearsed and that he loved it. Amanda said that it was colorful and it was good to see how good everyone was in the dance. Simon says that he is going stick to his original thought and that it was all over the place but that he also thought it was “totally brilliant”
Next up after the break is Neil Fullard, the singing doorman. Telling his story of being a doorman at the nightclub, Neil says that he is getting old for his job now. His nerves might get the best of him so he says. But with confidence he enters onto the stage sporting a nice suit and singing “That’s Life”. He shows that he is not letting his nerves affect him. The judges thought that it was amazing. Pierce said that he was reading the newspaper and found that Neil told the paper that if Simon had any bad criticism of the performance that he and his mates were going to strangle him to death. Kidding of course, this was all in good fun. Simon to go first and tells Pierce that he is never affected to threats. Simon has been in the business a while and joking threats have no affect on him and he found Neil’s performance amazing regardless of the joking from Neil. Amanda says that he is the rough exterior and that he is mushy inside and has a special sex appeal. Pierce said that he had swagger and that he really did a good job.
The Ruby Girls are up and they tell in their story that they are a unique act because of the fact that they do all their dancing in high heels. The judges say that they have to take it up a notch if they have the chance in the finals. The girls start dancing. With their beautiful figures and sex appeal, they surely get the men of the crowd going. The performance was good and it showed their talent of dancing the high heels. Dent admits that it was too short and that he could have watched it for a while. Pierce says that they are not the best technical dancers and that they weren’t always in sync. But he just did not care because of the way that they are dressed. Amanda says that it is time for a sexy dance group to go through. Simon says that they got it wrong and that the outfits were all wrong. But, Pierce says that Simon has to say that because he is getting married.
Connected shows their talent next and they tell their story of their connection to each other. They tell that they wanted to show Simon that they can do everything themselves and not rely on their moms. Coming out in contemporary clothing and not the suit and tie the boys sing “No Boundaries”. The singing was ok for their age and it showed that they did all the work themselves. Pierce said it was not the best performance and there was a couple of pitch problems but they looked amazing. Amanda said that their voices were great and that Pierce didn’t know what he was talking about. Simon agrees that it was wrong at the audition but agreed that they did move it up and got to make an image for themselves and that they have a real shot at winning the contest.
Back after the break is Kev Orkian who is going to try to bring a little comedy to the stage and he tells in his short video that the Armenian character comes from his mom who is Armenian. Simon recalls him as a one-trick pony. Will that be the case? He enters and says that Ant and Dent gave him his very own British passport. He says that now his name is Louis Walsh. Dedicating the song that he will be singing to Amanda, he is singing a “romantic” song in the style of Enrique Iglesias. Simon buzzes right away and scares Amanda. Pierce Buzzes after a few moments after when Kev starts singing in Spanish and changes to a fast paced number on the piano and finishes up. After the song Pierce said that he knows the secret that he is not Armenian and that he is not special anymore. Amanda said that it didn’t warrant a buzz but it wasn’t good either. Simon said that he is truly a one-trick pony and that it was not good enough for advancement.
Right up after is the Michael Jackson Tribute act, Michale Fayombo Jnr and Snr. Their story is put on and they tell that they are going to show the audience the best Michael Jackson dancing they have seen. Michael Jnr comes on first and starts dancing around and it is amazing that he can really do every move. Michael Snr comes on after a few moments and the father and son dance in unison. Britain’s Got Talent gives them a few background dancers to add to the dancing. Standing ovation from the audience and they are defiantly tired after that. Pierce said that the Dad couldn’t keep up with the son and that Michael Jnr stole the show. Amanda admits that Michale Snr does look tired and that it looked like he was going to have to be helped up a couple of times during the dance. Simon says that the act was wrong and mad because of all the greatest hits of Michael Jackson were in the song and that it was too disorganized. They leave the stage in high spirits despite the news.
After the break, the dog act Tina and Chandi are going to prove that they have what it takes to get into the finals. Chandi is 80 years old in dog years and was rescued by a shelter. Rehearsals did not go too well for the two before the show and they enter the stage with that fear and they dance together and it is really awesome to the dog actually follows the style of choreography that was made. It ended with Chandi propped up and holding the umbrella. This is a talented dog for sure! Pierce said that it was amazing and that Chandi has a huge chance at winning. Amanda notices the affection that they have together and says that she loved it. Simon said he loves the dog and that the story of Chandi is amazing.
Last semi-finalist of the night is Lady Gaga tribute dancer and singer Maxxie Oliver. Singing “Telephone”, he enters the stage dressed in a bizarre outfit that gets the audience going. The singing was awful and the dancing, no better. It is shocking why they would put through this type of act through to the semi-finals. However, at the end of the performance Pierce loved it and Maxxie says that he is telling a story and that he will be singing as Maxxie Oliver next and not Lady Gaga. Amanda thought that his performance was amazing despite his singing. Simon was appalled by his performance and even goes as far as to say that he wanted to leave. You can tell that this is serious to Maxxie and he walks off the stage a little depressed from Simon’s words. The performances are over and the now it is time for the world to see who they want to see in the finals!
