Series 5 - Auditions 7 - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Tonight is the last night of auditions and the talent so far has been great and not so great. Only 40 acts are going to be able to make it through to the semi-finals. The last auditions begin in the auditorium and the judges take their seat and get ready to be surprised at the talent that they have to offer.

The first act comes up and it is Tony Durant. He comes out and says that he is an animal impressionist. However, it is not good at all and is really horrible. The judges reject him strait away without discussion. This sets off a montage of bad acts that don’t get their pass to the next round.

Hopeful to give the judges a positive decision is Hendrick Huelsman, a Navy Soldier who inspires to be a singer. He gets on stage and starts to sing and it is horrible! Michael jokes with him and David says that it is not his cup of tea. They don’t give him a pass to the next round.

The next act, Joe Oakley, is going to do a bike act. He begins to jump over people and then gets on the buckets and makes it without falling. Michael says that was sensational and exciting. David says that it was original and unique. Joe gets a yes from all the judges and moves on to the next round.

This sets off a montage of great acts such as: Jessica Hobson, a dance duo, a cheerleading squad a duet of singers, and a 13-year-old opera singer. The talent seems to have turned around.

Next up is Reece Daly. He is a ventriloquist. He does a really good job. Amanda says that she has potential and says yes. David says that he thinks that he isn’t ready. However, Michael gives him another chance and put him through after Amanda tells him that Reece is going to grow.

Last up is Jean Martyn and she is going to be playing the organ. She is really good at it and plays “Great Balls of Fire”. Michael says that she was great. Amanda says that they were not the only ones having fun. David says that the Queen would love her. Jean makes it into the next round.

Now that the auditions are all over, it is now for the hard part for the judges. The successful acts have been sent to London to find out their fate. Amanda informs the two new judges what is going to happen and they are going to have to pick only 40 of them. The judges are a little timid and eventually, they get their picks as to who is going to be going to the Semi-Finals.

Some of the acts are going to have to perform again. The people have been separated into different groups. The acts get settled into Groups A, B and C. The judges come out and David says that Group A is not going through to the Semi-Finals. Those that remain get picked in groups. The first group comes in and the judges say that they are all through to the next round.

The next group of individuals comes out and they all get through as well. They celebrate and tell that it is the best in their life. The third group comes in also gets through and also celebrates. The forth and fifth group get through and also the sixth. As the judges get through the positive answers to people, there are spots for everyone almost.

However, the remaining eight acts are going to have to come back and perform again. They get in their areas and perform what they are going to do and they take to the stage. As all the acts show that they have what it takes, the judges need to see if they have what it takes to make it through to the next round.

The judges take a look at the acts again and decide on their own picks. They bring out the remaining acts and vote on them. There are happy moments and bad moments for some. The 40 contestants have been chosen and they all go to the Semi-Finals to prove that they have the talent it takes to make it through to the Royal Variety Show.
