Series 5, Semi Final - 3 - Recap

With “New Bounce” and Jean Martyn in the Finals, two more spots are up for grabs to the Finals. The Semi-Finalists performing for their spots are: The Circus of Horrors, Jay Worley, Angela & Teddy, Abyss, Wachiraporn Tirpak, Les Gibson, James Hobley and Gay & Alan. Ant and Dec have the judges come down and they talk to them. Dec asks abut Jean Martyn and they tell that their twitter have been crazy. David says that he keeps getting stopped on the streets and Michael tells that it has been crazy. Simon says that he loved “New Bounce” and they get started.

First up is The Circus of Horrors. They tell that they started in 1995 and say that it would be amazing to make it through. They come out and get the crowd cheering and on their feet in the end. David says that they didn’t really step it up and said that the second half was agree. Michael says that he enjoyed it, but it is hard to know where to look at. Amanda says that it got better and better. They need to concentrate on positioning. Simon says that he loved it.

Next is Jay Worley. He says that he has been dreaming of the moment like this forever. He comes out and sings “Use Somebody” and it is good. Michael says that he thought it was fabulous and he liked it. Amanda says that she could tell that he was a little nervous and says that it is a little nasally. Simon says that he thought the other guy was better before, but says that it was great tonight and he has progressed. David says that he stepped it up and loved it.

Angela & Teddy are next and she says that it is a miracle that they are through to the Semi-finals and she bought a pink push chair to move Teddy around. They come out and Teddy doesn’t want to do all the tricks. Amanda says that she started off with hope, but says that the level wasn’t great. Simon says that he was a fan of dog acts, but that was Lassie in slow motion. David says that Teddy is doing good going backwards. Michael says that there are flashes of the brilliance of Teddy. They try to be nice to Angela and Teddy.

Next up is Abyss and they talk about the comments that Amanda gave them at auditions and had to prove her wrong. During rehearsals, a dancer gets hurt. They come out and they do a great job. The audience gives them a standing ovation. Simon says that it was really creative and says that he was impressed by them and likes that there is a lot of windging and they did a great job. David says that they stepped it up and it was great. Michael says that he loved it. Amanda says that there were flashes. She says that it wasn’t better than the 2nd audition.

Up next is Wachiraporn Tirpak and she says that she works as a machine operator and she wants to do more than that. She comes on stage and Simon buzzes. Amanda and Michael buzz too. She doesn’t impress at all. David says that this time around, but not up to par. Michael says that he was embarrassed and felt like he was on a stag night. Amanda says that her 5-year-old daughter does better. Simon says that the judges were on something putting her through. Wachiraporn apologizes to the judges about her act.

Les Gibson is next and he is excited to be in the Semi-Finals. He comes out and does his impressions and they are spot on. Michael says that he was even better and says that the impression of Dec is perfect. Amanda says that the impressions are better and the whole set up was great. Simon says that it was great and took a leap for it and it was amazing. David says that it was amazing even though he didn’t know all the impressions.

Next up is James Hobley. He says that he has been dancing for a while. He comes out and is amazing in his dance moves. Afterward, Amanda says that he has done it again and he expressed everything and he moved her. Simon says that he was absolutely brilliant. David says that he is showing all the kids at school that he is an inspiration that he can live his dream. Michael says that he did a great job and says that it was great.

Gay & Alan are next and they tell about how excited they are to be in the Semi-Finals. They come out and they do the theme to Phantom of the Opera. Simon buzzes halfway through. They get a standing ovation though afterward. Simon says that he quite liked it, but the whole night has been bizarre and the end part was better than the first and says that there were too many bells. David says that they “rang his bell” and he loved it. Michael says that the relationship is amazing and how they met. However, it wasn’t as good as their auditions. Amanda says that it was a journey and it was amazing. The lines are open and the performers are done.
