Series 5, Semi Final - 4 - Recap

With Les Gibson and James Hobley through to the Finals, fighting for their place for the spot are: Dance Angels Elite, Jessica Hobson, Mexican Mayhem, Out of the Blue Class of 2011, Nathan Wyburn, Jai McDowall, Steven Hall and Edward Reid. With a special twist waiting, Simon hints that the judges have it wrong and he is going to do something about it. Ant and Dec come out and ask the judges about the competition and Simon says that they are getting there. David says that he doesn’t know if there are more spots in the chance of winning, but they will see. Amanda says that the people waiting are stressed. Michael says that he is excited and there is some kind of surprised. He says that it was the best day of his life because Simon called him Mikey.

Dance Angels Elite are up first and says that they can’t believe that they are in the Semi-Finals and say that they put the group together to show girls that they can do anything they want. There is ammense amount of pressure. They come out and they do a great job. David says that he loves them and says that they rock. Michael says that he loves them too, but it was the same as in the auditions. However, he loved it. Amanda asks them if they had fun and they tell that they did. She says that she loves their outfits. Simon says that it wasn’t good at the beginning and then it was better and better. He says yes to them if he saw it first. They tell that they had six days to get it together and they tried to improvised.

Jessica Hobson is next and she tells that she was shocked to go to the Semi-Finals and says that she worked hard in jobs, but in her heart she feels like she wants to be somebody. She comes out on stage and she sings her rendition of “Single Ladies”. Afterward, Michael says that she sensed her nerves and says that she should be proud of herself. Amanda says that she looks beautiful and says that it was really good, but says that she needs to relax. Simon says that it started fine but than got worse. She didn’t get treated right. David says that she should have stayed on her own and stay intimate with the audience. She says that she didn’t chose what she wanted to sing and starts to cry.

Mexican Mayhem is up now and she is happy that she was put through and says that she is confident that they will do their act and it is not goo. Simon buzzes. The audience laughs that only one of the dogs really wants to do the act. She ends it with the splits. Simon and David are the only ones in their seats. Ant and Dec come out and tell Amanda and Michael to get back there. Amanda says that it was rubbish and as much as she found it found it funny, she was embarrassed. Simon says that it was the worst dog act and says that it was nothing going on. David laughs and says that it was the most hysterical act and he loved it. Michael says that it is not a dog act, she is only a dog owner. Melanie says that she only entered the competition in memory of the dog foundation.

Up next is “Out of the Blue Class of 2011”. They tell that they would be proud if the Royal Family would want to hear them. They come out and sing a medley of songs all in Achepella. They are amazing and get a standing ovation from the audience. Simon says that the guys were amazing and says that it is original and different and did very well. David says that they are what the show is all about and says that they Queen will love them. Michael says that they were brilliant and they changed Simon’s mood. Amanda says that they did really well. They tell that they have exams too and they manage and have had a lot of rehearsals.

Nathan Wyburn is next and he says he is going to have to go that extra mile and shock the audience. He started doing art on three canvases. In the end, he was supposed to make the face of Elvis Presley, Marlyn Monroe, and Michael Jackson. However, the judges can’t recognize the artwork. David says that he had so much potential, but he tried to do too much. Michael says that he too had high hopes for him. Amanda says that he could have done better. Simon says that he should have done the toast thing again and did too much. However, he has his toast to go more. He says that he tried, but it was too much.

Jai McDowall is next and he says that he has been going to theater groups to get the fear out of his knees and wants to give the best performance. He comes out and sings “Bring Me To Life” by Evanesence. He is amazing! Amanda and David give him a standing ovation as well as the audience. Michael says that the power and passion and it is like having William Wallace in it and loves the fact that he came her and says that he thinks that he did great. Amanda says that she got goosebumps and is very good. Simon says that it has been an odd night, but he took his moment and it was a fantastic choice of song and thinks that a lot of people are going to like him. David says that he kept coming back to his tape and says that they are definitely looking at a Finalist.

Steven Hall is next and he says that he is excited to be a Semi-Finalist. He says that he gets to work as a Telecommunications Engineer, but he wants to be taken serious as an entertainer. He is going to give the performance of his life. He comes out and does a great job and gets a standing ovation. Amanda says that she thought that he was better than his audition and says that he is a really good dancer. Simon says that he enjoyed what he did because it is crazy and slightly compelling. David says that he doesn’t know where he is and says that was the weirdest act ever, but he liked it. However, he doesn’t have any chance. The audience boos of course and says that it is Britain’s Got Talent. Michael says that he thought it was great and he is so entertaining.

The final act for the night is Edward Reid. He says that he teaches Drama to a group called the “Nifty Fifties”. He says that his inner “Diva” is going to come out. He comes out on stage and sings the old songs of children’s tv shows to the song of “The Greatest One of All”.
Simon says that he has gone mad tonight and it is like a weird nightmare and asking himself if he likes this and amazingly he does. David says that he is awesome and it was great and very entertaining. Michel says that it was surprising because he likes his voice. Amanda says that she loves him and says that it is great to see him. Edward says that it is amazing moment. Now that the talent has performed, it is up to Britain to find who goes through to the Finals!
