Rebecca wakes up and gets out of Justin's bed. She tries to leave,
thinking maybe this wasn't such a good idea, but Justin wants to make
her breakfast.
Sarah continues working on the costumes. She tells Luc that every year
five places open up in the sixth grade and she's going to get one of
them for Cooper.
Kevin calls Kitty while she's working on the house. She says she's
pounding a very stubborn pole. Kevin said he once spent a hot weekend
with one from Warsaw. Saul advises him it's 9:00 a.m. She shows them by
switching to video call that she's working with Jack, and they go on
speaker phone so Kevin and Scottie can say hi to him. Kevin asks Kitty
if she's going to be at Cooper's play, and she says no. Kevin finishes
harassing Kitty and starts in on Saul. If Kitty can get that far out of
her comfort zone, so can he. Why doesn't Saul invite his friend to
Cooper's play? Saul says that despite the fact they see each other three
times a week, he doesn't even know if his friend likes him "that way".
So until he does, the friendship is going to stay casual.
The breakfast Justin made consists of cereal and juice. He asks Rebecca
if she's okay, and she says yes; just tired. He gets her coffee. David
calls to tell Rebecca that Holly disappeared.
Sarah has the women who have a say in Cooper getting into that class
over for tea, and agrees with everything they say. Luc comes through,
and Sarah introduces them. When they leave, Luc asks where Sarah is,
because the woman he loves would never have let them out of the house
alive with some of the comments they were making. Sarah says they are
testing her, and she will pass.
Nora calls Sarah and says she's on her way to help. The doorbell rings,
and it's Holly. She just wants to talk to William, just once. She knows
Nora hates her, and she promises never to bother her again, but she just
needs to talk to William. Holly brushes past Nora, calling for William.
Nora reminds her that William died five years ago. She asks Nora to help
her.
Rebecca and Justin are on the cell phones, trying to find Holly. Nora
called Justin to say she's there, and she is fine. Holly made Nora
promise she wouldn't let them all descend upon her. She asks them to
tell David she'll call him.
Kitty and Jack work together. She tells him if he sold his work in New
York, he could make a fortune. He helps Kitty to use long strokes on the
work, and she becomes flustered. She tells him that she has a friend who
is an editor at Architectural Digest. If said friend did a spread on
him, Jack would have to open a factory for all the work that he would
get. He asks Kitty if she's trying to figure out something new about
herself, or change him. She says she likes him fine the way he is and
Jack says that's good. He doesn't want a bunch of customers, or a
factory. She tells him she came up there to see what it's like to not
know what the next moment will bring. He asks how she likes it, and she
says it's scary. Jack says once you cut the ropes, anything can happen,
and he kisses her.
Kevin, Saul and his friend Charlie, and Sarah are all working on her
costume crisis. Kevin drops something, and when he picks it up he sees
that Charlie's foot is resting comfortably up against Saul's leg. Cooper
comes in and announces the costume needs to fit his understudy, because
he's quitting the stupid play.
Holly is in the bathroom, talking to Nora through the door. She is
painfully frustrated, and tells Nora she can't go on living like this.
Nora starts to panic and threatens to kick the door in if she won't open
it. Nora asks her what she's doing, and Holly says she doesn't know. She
doesn't even know how she got there. She could have killed somebody.
Holly asks Nora to take her to the hospital.
Cooper adamantly refuses to be in the play. He doesn't want to kiss any
gross girls. Sarah is losing her temper, so Luc takes over their chat.
He tells Cooper he won't be Cooper, he'll be Romeo. So as Romeo,
whatever Cooper does will be perfect. And remember, we don't kiss with
our lips, we kiss with our hearts.
Kevin announces that Cooper is back in the play, thanks to Luc. He wants
Saul to call Charlie, but the real reason Saul hasn't moved forward is
that he hasn't told Charlie he's HIV+. He's afraid if he tells him,
he'll lose him. Kevin says if he doesn't, he will anyway.
Nora is at the hospital with Holly. Rebecca and David are talking to the
doctor, and Justin brings Nora some coffee. Nora and Justin discuss the
possibility of a future for him with Rebecca. Since they've been
together, he wants her back that much more.
Kitty is on a call ordering somebody to print a correction and an
apology. She and Jack bicker about how she dove into the phone and
hasn't come back up for air since the kiss. He says that despite the
fact that it's only been 24 hours, he is developing feelings here, and
he doesn't think he's the only one. She verbally pushes him away, and
leaves.
Holly is sleeping. Justin goes to get Rebecca some coffee, and she and
Nora talk about Holly. She's afraid that if she sees Holly, it will hurt
rather than help her. Rebecca hasn't told Justin yet, but she got a
great job offer, and she doesn't know what to do. She loves Justin so
much. Nora tells Rebecca she can come to her for counsel anytime,
regardless of what happens with Justin.
The Walkers are at the play, and they all whoop and cheer when Cooper
makes his entrance.
Rebecca visits Holly. Holly thinks the reason she's not getting any
better is that nobody is being honest about who she was and their
relationship with her. Rebecca tells Holly she ran away from home when
she was 15, but it's a long story. Holly tells her she's got nothing but
time.
One of the kids in the play draws his sword, and his costume rips, much
to Sarah's embarrassment. Everybody laughs, and the boy runs offstage.
Holly can't believe Rebecca lived with Nora Walker for an entire summer.
Rebecca tells Holly she would know how tough it was to watch Justin go
off to war, because of Daniel. Holly eloped when she was 18, and then
Daniel went off to war. Holly said nobody ever knew, she didn't tell
anybody. But she did tell Rebecca. He wrote Holly ever single day until
he stepped on a mine. So every single day for a year, she brought
flowers to the place where he first kissed her. Holly says if she told
Rebecca all of that, she truly must have loved her; but why doesn't she
feel that now. Holly starts apologizing again.
It's time for the kiss and Cooper does fine. Juliet panics and destroys
the set on her way out. The two moms Sarah was trying to impress go too
far and she shreds them before leaving with Luc.
Charlie is about to kiss Saul when Saul tells him the truth. Charlie
lost his last partner to HIV and he is not about to go through that
again. They're both sorry.
Justin and Rebecca talk. She tells him she got a job offer in New York,
and she's going to take it. She needs the time to grow up, like the time
he had in Afghanistan. They agree they can't go backwards. She tells him
she loves him, and he says he wouldn't even be alive if it wasn't for her.
Nora and Justin bake cookies together. Justin is afraid if he cries, he
won't stop. She tells him go ahead, she's the only one there. So he cries.
Kevin and Scottie feel bad for pushing Saul to talk to Charlie. He's
glad he did it. Kevin makes noises about setting him up on a date.
Scottie says if it's with Stanley, that's perfect. Saul asks who Stanley is.
Cooper comes home from school. He's glad Sarah's stopped kissing butt.
Luc comes in with a call for Cooper. It's Margaret, the girl who played
Juliet. Cooper says one kiss and he can't get rid of this girl. Sarah
tells Luc he created a monster.
Kitty thanks Jack for coming over. and apologizes for running away. He
wants them to try to just sit and be quiet. She tries, but is
unsuccessful. She tells Jack she likes him. He asks if it's too soon,
and she shushes him. They kiss.
Justin gets home to an envelope on the counter. It contains a picture of
he and Rebecca.
David greets Holly at an outdoor table at a restaurant, and Rebecca
snaps their picture from across the street.
