Saul arrives bearing flowers, as Nora scrubs away at her kitchen floor.
She's nervous. Saul doesn't understand why; Tommy is coming home, and
that's a good thing. Tommy said he had a surprise for them, she's
curious. They talk a bit about how William had her followed when she was
seeing Brody. The phone rings, and it's Tommy. He's landed, just
checking in.
Sarah's at war with her wardrobe, trying to find the right thing to
wear. Luc arrives home early, and tells her not to care too much about
what she wears, because it's all coming off anyway. She has decided that
she wants Tommy to walk her down the aisle. And she never wants to be
separated from Luc that long again. If he has to go to China, she's
going, too. The phone rings and he asks her not to take the call, but
she promises to be quick. it's Nora, and it drags on a bit so he calls
Justin and tells him to call Nora. He does so, and Sarah wraps herself
around Luc.
Justin tells Nora he doesn't know the surprise. Annie greets him with a
kiss. She'll be joining them for dinner that night. He picked up a
shift, that's why he's there unexpectedly. Rick joins them, and Justin
notes that everywhere he is, so's Rick. After he walks away, Annie and
Justin agree that they'll both ignore him from now on.
Olivia sees her new room. Scotty and Kevin want her to like it. If she
doesn't like the color, they'd be more than happy to paint it for her
again. They give her a present, and Nora calls just as she's opening it.
She calls both phones when neither pick up, and then the box starts
ringing. Nora couldn't resist. She tells Kevin to give Olivia some
space, and he mutters through clenched teeth "Hi pot, this is kettle.
You're black." Nora apologizes. She knows they won't be there tonight,
and Kevin tells her he's meeting Tommy for coffee. She asks about the
surprise, and Kevin tells her he knows nothing, and ends the call.
He apologizes for Nora ruining the surprise. Scotty and Olivia are going
shopping while Kevin goes for coffee with Tommy. All she really wants
to do is draw.
Tommy is home and calls out to Nora. They have a very happy reunion, and
his new girlfriend throws herself into Nora's arms. Surprise!!
Sarah arrives as they are explaining how they met. Sarah and Tommy
finally hug. She'd like to get together with just Tommy, but Rose
invites herself and Tommy says the four of them can go out together.
They're in the honeymoon phase. They've been together six months. She
knows Nora has everything she needs, so she has started a family tree
for her. She hopes she doesn't sound like a stalker, but she's obsessed
with history. She's nervous, but Tommy reassures her. He calls her the
light of his life, and Rose says that's what he said the day she moved
in. That's how Nora finds out they are living together.
Olivia shows Scotty her work. It's a list of stuff that she wants, in
picture form. Scotty declares her very talented.
Justin, Kevin and Tommy are out for coffee. Tommy shows Justin a picture
of Rose on his cell. He says she's beautiful. Justin gets out his phone
to show them Annie. They talk about Dr. Rick, and what's up with him and
Annie. Kevin got a text from Sarah saying Rose is weird. While they
talk, Rose texts him '143', which means I love you. Justin and Kevin
declare a nerd alert. They go their separate ways, and Justin heads for
the game.
Rick shows up, and Justin takes a verbal shot at him which Rick blows
off as a joke. Rick gives Annie the lucky penny.
Rose shows up to help Nora in the kitchen. She tells her how beautiful
her home is, saying she could sell this place in a second. Nora looks
confused, and Rose tells her she's a broker. Rose goes on to tell Nora
that Tommy feels like he let everybody down. Nora doesn't say much. When
Rose goes to get the garlic press out of the drawer, she finds the
picture that Saul left behind that morning. Rose asks who else is in the
picture. Nora identifies Saul but refuses to identify Brody. She puts
the picture away, and redirects Rose.
Sarah and Tommy take a little trip down memory lane. He asks her about a
real estate investment project. Rose is a broker, and they want to do
something big. He wants money from Sarah, so they can start out flipping
small houses. She asks if this is his idea, or Rose's. He says 'both'.
She wishes she'd known this was a business pitch, because she would have
worn different shoes. She's hurt because they never talk, and they only
are now because he wants money. She says they missed the bubble, and the
company's assets aren't liquid, so she couldn't invest even if she
wanted to. He tells her he understands. She suggests he put together a
proposal. He says forget about it - but what did she think of Rose? When
Sarah says she thinks she's great, he tells her he saw her text to
Kevin. Sarah says she was joking. He thanks her for the coffee and says
he'll see her at dinner.
Scotty and Olivia are playing supermarket sweep. Ostensibly, Olivia won
but she didn't actually get anything on the list. Just the junk food she
wants. And besides, what is the point of living above a restaurant if
you can't even eat there? He says it's their business. And she can keep
a couple of things she wants from her basket, but they are going to go
get the stuff on the list.
Justin is sliding into home. He swears he made it by a mile, but the
umpire calls him out. Mike backs the umpire. He calls Justin 'buddy',
and Justin calls him douche. Dr. Douche. Annie asks him to stop, but
he's too angry and shoves Mike, kicking off a physical altercation.
Rose is nervous about dinner. She tells Tommy that Nora had such a look
on her face when she pulled out the picture from the drawer. He tells
her it's okay, just calm down. As they are kissing, Justin and Annie
walk in and everybody meets. He's still upset about how the game
unfolded, so Rose and Annie go to get drinks.
Kevin and Scotty touch base about the shopping trip as they set the
table. Olivia comes out of her room, and Kevin tells her he thought she
lost her phone, since she didn't return his texts. She was with Scotty,
so why would she text Kevin. They try to talk with her about how the
phone, and the shopping, but she gets up and goes in her room.
At dinner, Luc announces that they've set a date for their wedding. They
are toasted, as well as Tommy and Rose's new beginning. Sarah snipes
they've been shacked up for months, it's hardly a new beginning. Nora is
so happy. Sarah tells everybody that Tommy pitched her the housing idea,
and she blew it off. Rose chimes in that with the neighborhood in
question, the numbers make sense. Annie agrees. Her cousin just bought a
house, flipped it and made a ton of money. Justin warns her to butt out,
so she does so. Justin is still nursing hurt feelings from the game, and
mutters something disparaging at her. Rose says she has to say he was
safe if she ever wants any peace. Justin can't believe with all the
camera phones there, nobody got proof. Annie thinks they should check
Youtube later, and Rose and Tommy laugh, while Justin becomes more cold.
Nora asks Sarah if she can't find Tommy a job. She and Tommy are yelling
at each other in no time. Him asking her for money is nothing like them
working together to save the family business. Saul tries to stop them,
but Sarah asks. Did he really come down here to work with her, or just
to rob the family piggy bank and head for Seattle. Honestly? Yes. Well,
he and Rose are engaged, and he wanted his fiance to meet his family.
That's the big surprise. He's felt lost for the last year, until he met
Rose and she made him believe in himself again. He tells her they are
leaving, and Rose excuses herself.
Sarah shows up to apologize to Tommy. He wants to get back into the
family. She asks him to come to work with her. She's lonely. He says
he'll think about it. She wants him to think about something else, too.
He wants her to walk her down the aisle. She's glad he has Rose, and she
will try harder. He says he doesn't want her to try, he just wants her
to love him. Unconditionally. And yes, he would love to walk her down
the aisle. They hug.
Annie finds Justin, who is still barely speaking to her. It's not as
simple as being competitive. He's picking a fight to push her away. He
disagrees. Justin believes she's not over Rick. She may not want to
admit it, but it's true.
Scotty and Kevin tell Olivia that they have gotten her a gecko so she
can have something she alone is responsible for. It's not a bribe. Kevin
got the Gecko a name tag, and Olivia freezes on them again. She takes
him to see her room, and Kevin Scotty finally realize the truth of the
matter. Olivia can't read. That's why she didn't return the texts, or
follow the shopping list.
Nora apologizes to Rose about how dinner went. She wants them to move
back here, and she's embarrassed to have behaved so selfishly. Nora gets
out the leftovers so they can actually eat dinner. Rose asks about Brody
again, and Nora finally gives up his name. Sarah tells Nora that she and
Tommy made peace. Tommy asks Rose how she feels about moving down there.
Rose says yes. They share a group hug.
Saul tells Nora that Brody is in the phone book. Brody is his last name.
Nick Brody. She doesn't want to think about Nick. She wants to think
about Olivia, her new granddaughter. She asks nobody to be mad at her if
she cries. Olivia comes out, and they meet. She thanks Nora for her
phone, and introduces her to the gecko.
Justin shows up at the hospital and Annie greets him happily. She wants
him to know she wasn't trying to lead him on, and she hopes that they
can still be friends. He says yes. Eventually. He'll see her around. As
he leaves, she tells him she thinks he might have been safe. He
appreciates that, and says good bye.
Sarah calls and tells Tommy that she can't make it to the office this
morning, thanks to Luc. But she'd like Tommy and Rose to come over for
lunch. Rose discovers that Nora got married in January, when they'd
always said they got married in June.
