Rupert Giles [Season 1-5 & Recurring in 6 & 7], played by Anthony Stewart Head
Rupert Giles came to Sunnydale from England as Buffy's Watcher. However after a disagreement with the Watcher's Council he was fired, but he stayed on as Buffy's "unofficial Watcher". In series 4 Giles took over 'The Magic Box', a magic shop in Sunnydale, after it's last owner was killed by vampires. When Buffy died at the end of series 5 Giles returned to England, but came back when she was resurrected and later tried to stop Willow's magical rampage. He went back to England with Willow to help her recovery, but then returned to Sunnydale to help defeat the First Evil. |
