Glory [Season 5 Big Bad], played by Clare Kramer
Glory, or Glorificus, was a goddess from a hell dimension who was banished to Earth by the other two gods, when they feared she had become too powerful. Her soul was forced into the body of a baby boy, but she soon began to take control of the body for short periods of time, transforming into her physical form (See picture). While in this form she has incredibly strength, speed and stamina, and she was nigh on indestructible. She could only maintain her sanity by feeding off the brains of humans. She came to Sunnydale looking for the Key, a mystical device which could open the portals to all dimensions and allow her to regain her former power. She discovered that Dawn was the Key and kidnapped her, she then started a ritual to open the portals, but was interrupted by Buffy, who weakened her considerably. In the end she was forced down, deep inside Ben; but Giles, knowing that she would one day return killed Ben, thereby also killing Glory. |
