|
A series of mysterious attacks leave the students of Sunnydale High stumped. When Buffy comes to the conclusion that all the attacks revolve around Cordelia Chase, she and her friends do some more digging and discover that it's an invisible force that's doing all the attacking and is holding a grudge against Cordelia. It is now up to Buffy to stop this menace from exacting it's revenge, but how can she do battle with something she can't even see?

| Cordelia: (to Buffy) Because you're always around when all this weird stuff is happening. And I know you're very strong, and you've got all those weapons. I was kind of hoping you were in a gang.
| Giles: (about Cordelia being in the library) You know, I... I don't recall ever seeing you here before.
Cordelia: Oh, no, I have a life.

| During the scene where Buffy and her friends are having lunch, Xander alternates between eating a sandwich and then to not having a sandwich as the shots change.
| When Buffy tries to save Cordelia from Marcy and falls, she lands on her back and rolls over on her side. However in the next shot she is still shown lying on her back.

| Cordelia: My eyes are hazel, Helen Keller.
This is a reference to Helen Keller, a girl born in 1880 who by the age of 2 was both blind and deaf. Thanks to an extraordinary teacher, Anne Sullivan, Helen learned to communicate and speak and went on to live a long healthy life, living 88 years.
| Buffy: It's pretty much "Crush! Kill! Destroy!"
This is a reference to a robot in the 1960s sci-fi show Lost in Space, who is famous for using that line. Buffy uses it to imply that monsters aren't exactly known for trying to send messages.
