The telephone number that Wesley dials when contacting the Watcher's Council regarding Faith appears to be a correct one, which is unusual for television and film. The international calling code from the US to the UK is 011-44-telephone number. On screen, we clearly see Wesley dialling 11-44-the rest of the number.

Finch's death marks the third murder investigation in which Buffy has been involved in less than two years; she was previously suspected regarding the deaths of fellow Slayer Kendra and her would-be step-father, the robot Ted. "Deeply stupid" (as Principal Snyder once categorized them) or not, at least some members of the Sunnydale Police Department must surely realize there is more to Buffy than there seems.

This episode marks the death of Mr. Trick. Faith shifts her alligence at the end of the episode by offering to take his place.

  Episode Quotes
Cordelia: Check out Giles: The Next Generation. What's your deal?
Wesley: Uh, I, uh, well, I'm, uh...
Faith: New Watcher.
Cordelia: Oh.
Wesley: Does everybody know about you?
Buffy: She's a friend.
Cordelia: Let's not exaggerate.

Mr. Trick: (realising he's been staked) Oh, no. No, this is no good at all.

Faith: You sent your boy to kill me.
The Mayor: That's right, I did.
Faith: He's dust.
The Mayor: I thought he might be, what with you standing here and all.
Faith: I guess that means you have a job opening.
