C.S.I. He guest starred as Professor Rambar in this episode and in episode 11 of season 1 entitled
"I-15 Murders", and in episode 1 of season 5 entitled
"Viva Las Vegas" as the building super.
The Catholic League objected the airing of this episode due to its portrayl of anti-abortion protestors and activists.

An obvious play on the term Secrets and Lies, used as a title in movies, books, and TV episodes
The testimonial evidence Gil provides is comparatively similar to that in a real life case involving David Alan Westerfield, a suspected child murderer (later convicted). The real-life forensics expert, Madison Lee Goff, testified about evidence involving the length of time larvae was on a dead body based on life cycles. Dr. Goff is a forensics expert and department chair at a university in Hawaii.
