Episode Quotes
Catherine: In fifth grade, I built one of these as my science fair project. It was awesome. First place should've been mine. But they ended up giving it to this kid with some lame red ant colony.
(Gil smirks at the thought as if he's remembering something, too. Catherine glances at Gil, barely catches a glimpse of the smirk and does a double take.)
Catherine: (accusing) That was you.
Gil: Yeah, only my ants were Black Argentinians.
Catherine: Uh-huh.
Gil: I learned at a very early age that the bugs always win.
Catherine: Right.

Cultural References
Title: Grissom Versus the Volcano

Presumably an obscure reference to the largely unsuccessful 1990 Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan film Joe Versus The Volcano, about an average guy who is told he has six months to live, then finds reason to live.

Sara: I'll take the west wing.

Likely an in-joke regarding Jorja Fox's (Sara) recurring role as Gina Toscano on The West Wing.
