Episode Notes |
| |
The story of this episode was originally about how Grissom was convinced Cassie was alive. However, William Petersen's nephew passed away and he wasn't able to be at the taping of the episode due to the funeral. So instead, the writers changed the story to be about Nick thinking Cassie is alive. | This episode received a 2005-2006 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series. |

Title: Gum Drops
Gum Drops are a type of candy made of a thick, gelatinous sugar, about a cubic centimeter in size, usually coming in bright artificial colors and with a light dusting of additional granulated sugar. Usually some mild fruit or spice flavoring is applied, and the latter are usually called spice drops. They are often used to decorate gingerbread houses during the holidays. | Visual: Cassie leaving a trail of gum and gum wrappers.
This is similar to Hansel & Gretel leaving a trail of breadcrumbs so they could find their way back. | Greg: Sweet Mary Jane. The Emerald City.
Mary Jane and Emerald City are both slang terms for marijuana. |
