The term "cross-dressing" refers to wearing clothing, particularly in public, which is usually associated with the opposite gender, as a man wearing a dress, or a woman wearing a tuxedo.

In addition, the title format hearkens to the titles of the classic Sherlock Holmes stories, many of which were titled with names like "The Case of the xxxx".
