Episode Quotes

Speedle: Oh, you got a permit.
Ted: Yeah, that's right, from Parks and Rec.
Speedle: Well, I'm going to let you tell that to the family of the girl that got murdered here last night.
Ted: Whoa, hold on.
Speedle: I'm going to let you tell them that we can't process this crime scene because you have a permit for a party.
Ted: You misunderstood me.
Speedle: Then I'm going to arrest your cheap tequila-pushing ass and have you spend a night in lock-up with all the drunk and disorderlies and you can smell the vomit of the fraternity boys.
Ted: You know what? Maybe I, I should wait until you're finished.
Speedle: That's a capital idea, Ted.

Calleigh: Is this hot enough or do you want to see my weapons permit?

Episode Goofs

The mold taken off of the girl's bitten leg was indented inward, but on the skin, a bite would be indented inward, so the mold should be reversed.

While Horatio and Alexx are examining the girl on the table, you can see the girl breathing for a brief instance.

When the forensic dentist examines the molds/teeth she says that there are some similarities with the interproximals. Interproximals are between the teeth and cannot be seen by just looking in the mouth.

When the bad guy is being questioned about his crowns at the end of the show, Horatio notices that he sees crowns on his cuspid and bicuspid. When Horatio removes the crowns, the bad guy is clearly missing the upper right lateral incisor – not one of the teeth Horatio mentioned.

Cultural References

Carson Mackie's Coed flashing video productions "Babes on Break" are similar to the popular Girls Gone Wild videos, with Mackie being loosely based on Joe Francis, the producer of those videos. Francis had previously been arrested for prostitution, sexual exploitation, drug charges and racketeering. In the episode Mackie has sex with a young woman's corpse, thinking she had passed out. A year after this episode aired a woman accused Francis of drugging and raping her. Tests did not find evidence of drugs in the alleged victim's blood and the DA decided not to prosecute due to lack of evidence. Francis later sued the woman in civil court for defamation of character.

Guy on beach: Dude, where's the car?
Other guy on beach: Dude, where are we?

This is a reference to the movie, "Dude, where's my car?"
