A crew of six members tied together and drowned in the ocean lead the CSI to a case of modern day piracy. The investigation uncovers a hijacked ship with more dead crew members thrown overboard, while the remaining crew having escaped on a life raft. With the help of a GPS and radar system the survivors are found and questioned, but their stories don't mesh. Further investigation sends the team into the underbelly of Miami's militia and arms dealers.
