Calleigh, Natalia and Eric all testify against a man suspected of strangling a woman with his belt, but the case takes an odd turn when Horatio and Tara discover that the body in the morgue is covered in blow flies. This changes the case and the team must re-investigate. Meanwhile, the defense attorney gets on the team’s nerves when he starts to file complaints against them and it ends up in Ryan forced to turn in his badge and gun.

This episode portrays a number of events that incorrectly portray the law.
1. In the beginning, a prosecuting attorney announces to the jury that the criminal defendant's failure to testify to his own innocense is clear evidence of his guilt. However, prosecutors are not allowed to suggest any sorts of inference of guilt based on the the defendant's failure to testify, as this would infringe the constitutional right to remain silent.
2. Closer to the ending of this episode, attorney Powell claims that under to his duty of confidentiality to his client, he can't tell the location where his client took a girl hostage (although he intentionally mentions a certain area owned by his client). However, an attorney who's aware that a client is involved in an act which poses as an immediate threat to a human life is legally obligated to report the act of crime, and is not under the rules of confidentiality in this case. |
