A woman is killed from what seems to be a terrible auto accident. However, further evidence reveals that she was killed after the accident and a dead body is found in the trunk of the car. Now, as the investigation seems to be a case of a jewelry heist gone awry, the victim's traumatized son and Natalia's hidden past may hold the key to discovering what really happened.

A Marine recruiter is found dead on a civilian shooting range with several bullet holes in him, but there's no blood at the scene. The investigation reveals the victim was dead before he was shot and that his body was dragged onto the range. As the case progresses, Horatio learns the murder may be connected to the death of a marine in Iraq who was killed in combat. Also, Natalia is shocked to learn that Nick asked Valera out and that she accepted.

Meanwhile, every case that Ryan has worked on is being re-investigated and he is put in a bad position possibly damaging the good name of the CSI's.
The team investigates a young woman's death done by serial killer who writes a "Y" on the victim's chest after death. The case is odd because the CSI's can't understand why a killer would stay at a crime scene only to do a signature mark risking to get caught, but they soon find out that the "Y" is for the "evil Y chromosome" which leads to a possible suspect.
We flashback in time to see what really happened before Horatio got a DNA analysis from Maxine Valera saying Horatio's son was involved in something. In the beginning of the flashback, we see S.W.A.T. units and the CSI team closing in on a mystery man's home. But instead of getting caught, the mystery man jumps right off the building roof and in to a boat and manages to escape. Afterwards, Eric continues being jealous of the new relationship between Calleigh and Jake Berkeley and Horatio faces emotional moments with his son.
The Internet turns Candace Walker into a very popular sex symbol, but with bad consequences as her boyfriend is murdered during a swimming competition. With the tragedy, Candace grows as an international sensation, leading to Ryan becoming her private protector. However, things don't work out like they should when the CSI's are exposed to the public, making them fear that the next victim may be one of their own.

Meanwhile, Alexx believes she has found something big while autopsying the young girl who died. Also, new evidence is collected and analysed that suggests Tim Speedle may still be alive.
A call from a mysterious woman ends in death for a sport legend and Alexx uncovers something odd about the killing at the crime scene. She also talks to the sport legend's wife, who has a court order that his body will be frozen and no autopsy will be made. However, Alexx takes part in a Virt-opsy (Virtual-autopsy). Meanwhile, Calleigh talks to the mysterious woman, whom they identified with the legend's phone records.
The CSI's investigate a case where a man was strangled to death during a total solar eclipse, but Alexx fears that the body will "take another soul" as there's an old saying that it won't get rest until it has done that. Meanwhile, Natalia gets a DNA result that suggests a person's DNA is mutating into a canine, as in a wolf.
One of the models at a fashion show is killed by electrocution while walking down the runway and Horatio believes the killer was sending a message to them. When Ryan and Calleigh check out the wires below the runway, they uncover that each of the models had their own personalized lighting, and that a small fire made the evidence burn and disappear. Meanwhile, evidence that is found at the scene leads Horatio to a prisoner who, appearently, was the dead model's husband. Horatio also visits his son in prison, who is having a hard time in there.
A seemingly normal family vacation turns deadly when assassination attempts on all of them are made. Only one of them dies, though, and he was in an elevator that appearently was having problems. Natalia is the first one at the scene for the first time and gets an odd feeling that he is trying to tell her something. Meanwhile, the CSI's get their first suspect and the man of the family want to get revenge on him. However, Horatio isn't sure that the suspect did it and must therefore make sure the family man doesn't get an opportunity to kill him.
Calleigh's life is threatened when two unknown gunmen two times try to kill her. She manages to survive and get the car to crash, though, but one of the gunmen escapes while the other dies. At the scene afterwards, Horatio and Ryan find some irregularity in what was inside the car. Meanwhile, Calleigh is being questioned by Stetler about what happened and she gets mad when Stetler believes her memory is affected by drinking alcohol before the incident.
The CSI's investigate the death of a wealthy family's nanny, found by the family daughter whose feet were covered in the nanny's blood. While talking to the son in the family, Calleigh and Delko find out that the nanny was quitting, but they also find some irregularity in her bags. Later on, while searching a suspect's car, the family notices that they have been robbed, leading Horatio to think the nanny "died for the money".
Three weapon smugglers checking their weapons are in for a shock when an unknown man walks silently in to their secret location. The unknown man shoots and kills all of them with a rare but illegal gun that can "vaporize" human. Horatio believes someone is sending a message, and when Maxine Valera uncovers that there was a fourth man with the same job as the victims, Horatio makes him an instant suspect for their deaths.
While investigating a young woman's death in her apartment, Ryan and Alexx try out a new technique for recovering prints off the victim before moving her. However, a fire breaks out in the apartment, which spreads over to the victim. Ryan tries to find a fire extinguisher, but finds a meth lab in the apartment instead. Ryan believes it was his tent (for the technique) that started the fire, but Calleigh, Eric and Natalia find out that the fire was a ticking time-bomb because the electricity in the room wasn't able to turn itself off, leading to a fire.
Julia Winston, Horatio's ex and Kyle's mother, re-appears as a rich widow when Horatio and the team investigate a man's death in his own office. However, Julia's appearance is a case of its own and Horatio and her share some emotional discussions concerning custody of Kyle. Meanwhile, Alexx gets stuck in traffic and Natalia notices that some blood at the crime scene has been touched and "moved".
A murder bride at a wedding finds an unexpected suspect in the groom, a professional baseball player who was standing right next to his bride when she was shot from a distance. The investigators head to the site of the bachelor party, a strip club where one of the strippers was stiffed by a member of the stag party.
Horatio must once again face his past when Julia arrests him and has him extradited to Brazil for a murder two years earlier. Meanwhile, Calleigh's alleged work mistakes are being put on the internet by an unknown cyberstalker.
Horatio is transported back to Miami to help the team find Calleigh, who's been kidnapped and forced to cover up a murder. While at the scene of the kidnapping, they notice that an ambush took place, involving Calleigh fainting from chloroform. Later on, one of the kidnappers turns himself in to the CSI's and tells them the location of Calleigh... but to arrest the remaining kidnapper without Calleigh becoming a victim, they cook up a poker plan, hoping that the kidnapper will "fold" after "all in".
The CSI's investigate the death of an Internet predator that was overdriven while talking on the phone. Alexx uncovers that the victim’s clothes was partially covered in oil, meaning that the car that killed him was leaking. Meanwhile, Delko and Frank Tripp interrogate the woman that the victim was talking to, who apparently had a “fling” with the victim a few months ago. Afterwards, another body is found and Natalia recognizes the killed man from a show called “Predators Among Us”. He had been talking to a girl named Tiffany, which takes an unexpected turn in the case.
When a man crashes down a sinkhole after some road rage, Horatio and Frank uncover a bank vault underground, which leads to the suspicion of a bank robbery. They also find the body of a woman that they believe was in on the robbery but left for dead when the car came crashing down. Delko talks to the bank manager, who denies that anyone can break in to the vault, especially the woman. Meanwhile, the team gets suspicions that the workers who transport oranges from factories to stores hide cocaine in special compartments inside the crates.
Alexx must decide between professional duty and family duty when her son becomes a suspect in a murder case. As the investigation goes on, Alexx finds that saving her son may have dire consequences.
When a fake 911 call causes a man (holding a knife) to die, Horatio uncovers something odd about the crime going on. Meanwhile, Calleigh talks to a suspect whose house was identified as the caller's location, but he denies that it was him. Later, Horatio argues with a private investigator who is determined to destroy the CSI team.
In the season finale, the CSI’s investigate the death of a man who fell backwards out of a window and on to a street. However, an unknown individual doesn’t want the team near the victim and starts a gunshot battle, ending in one more fatality. Meanwhile, an APB is put out hoping that they find a specific car. Calleigh is the one who spots it and it turns into a race with one car ending up on fire.
When the daughter of Delko's therapist, Dr. Marsh, is killed, the CSI's believe that one of her patients is the killer. However, as she is told secrets all day, the team does not get access to the files and have to find an alternate way to find their murderer. Later, the case gets much more complicated and dangerous when all of her files are stolen, including Delko's darkest secrets.
Horatio and the team investigate how a date in the Everglades turned into a crime scene and apparently the victim was dying when he came running towards the couple. While talking to the man who tried to help the victim, they find out that the couple was there illegally. Meanwhile, Tara comes across evidence that suggests the victim took a bite out of another human, as in cannibalism, but not only that, the piece of human flesh he swallowed had a tattoo on it that Horatio links to the Russian mob…
After an explosion in a hip fashion boutique kills a young woman, Ryan uncovers that the dress the victim was putting on, had small explosives attached to the zipper. Meanwhile, Julia is arrested for bad checks, but Horatio believes there is more to it than what appears. When talking to her, she claims that Leonard McBride is stealing from her. Later on, H finds Kyle fighting with a neighbor and he understands that something must be done.
William Campbell is about to testify against Joey Salucci, but he has regrets and tries to get out of it. Eric and Calleigh meet him in a tall Miami building to talk about it, but they are interrupted in the most dangerous way; a 200-foot crane crashing into the building, killing Campbell and threatening the lives of Calleigh and Eric. Afterwards, Ryan experiences a fear of heights while searching the control room for the crane and Horatio is pit up against an old “friend”.
When very loud music can be heard in the morning at a hotel, it results in the hotel manager using a key to get in to the apartment the music originated from. However, they find what they never expected, a dead body and a girl lying next to him claiming she’s been drugged. But later on, she starts to remember that she was sleeping with the man and that she was mistaken for a prostitute, but that she didn’t kill him. Meanwhile, Ryan and Delko prank Tara in the morgue pretending a victim is standing up, but the results is that evidence is possibly ruined.
When a baby is kidnapped right from the mother's hands, the family members are so desperate after getting her back that they start blaming losing the baby on each other. Later on, when the kidnappers call to their house demanding money in exchange for the baby, the mother is instantly trying to get it, but Calleigh convinces her that the baby will be killed if she gives in to them. However, when Horatio and Delko get an address, they find one of the kidnappers dead.
A woman, electrocuted to death, is found on a street and the CSI’s uncover that there doesn’t seem to be any signs of her being transported to the location. Tara also finds out that the woman wasn’t just killed, but tortured, meaning the killer is sadistic. However, the case turns more personal when Horatio finds out that a member of the police force has a connection to the case and it winds up in him turning in his badge and gun.
After a shootout at the hotel where Delko is staying kills a woman and injuries Delko, another body is found, but the extra fatality had nothing to do with the shootout. Tara says that the body was tortured and that the victim’s hand had been burned with a lighter. She also finds what looks like a bullet but turns out to be a mark leading to a fraternity. Meanwhile, Eric meets Carmen Delko and they have an emotional discussion involving Eric’s fake birth certificate.
When a man buried alive is killed by a crane drilling into the ground, the CSI’s believe they have found a very important piece of evidence, a cardio messenger. From the messenger, Tara manages to find out who the victim was and the time of date, but something odd comes up when the device confirms the victim was shot 1 hour and 30 minutes before the crane really killed him. Meanwhile, Natalia talks to a funeral director because a family wants to bury their daughter but the director claims he needs more money.
The CSI's try to recover a man's memory after he walks through a street covered in blood. He tells Horatio he remembers killing somebody, but he doesn't remember anything else. Frank tries to find out where he came from by asking witnesses, but no one seems to know. Later on, the team manages to find the crime scene where the man with amnesia murdered someone and they uncover the real secret behind the killing.
A murder in a VIP booth at a horse race track has the CSI’s attention. However, Eric and Calleigh find out that the man was murdered for other reasons than normal. Meanwhile, Horatio uncovers that the one of the CSI’s have been targeted by the Russian mob, leading to a fight where either the CSI or the mobster dies.
Calleigh and Ryan are called to a house to investigate a man’s death, and they find his body in the attic. But when someone enters the house and locks them up in the attic, the lives of the CSI’s are in jeopardy as a fire breaks out inside the house. They barely make it out of the house, however, the danger isn’t over yet as Calleigh has a late reaction to all the smoke she inhaled. She is immediately driven to the hospital, where Alexx and her team tries to help her.
Calleigh, Natalia and Eric all testify against a man suspected of strangling a woman with his belt, but the case takes an odd turn when Horatio and Tara discover that the body in the morgue is covered in blow flies. This changes the case and the team must re-investigate. Meanwhile, the defense attorney gets on the team’s nerves when he starts to file complaints against them and it ends up in Ryan forced to turn in his badge and gun.
When a couple takes over the defense attorney Derek Powell’s boat right in the middle of a party, it winds up in the couple escaping successfully with all the party guest’s jewelry and the death of Powell’s wife. Ryan, Natalia and a police unit find the boat the couple came in and all the missing jewelry, but there’s no sign of the couple. Meanwhile, Eric meets his father.
A woman celebrates her divorce by throwing a divorce party, but it takes a turn for the worst when the body of her ex-husband interrupts. Calleigh finds a fishing line to a release mechanism, so she believes someone among the party guests pulled it and made a trap door open to reveal his body. Meanwhile, Horatio has another encounter with Julia and Kyle when Julia starts to have an unusual behavior. To protect Kyle from Julia, Horatio gives him a job at the morgue with Tara.
The CSI’s investigate how a girl could die when baggage covered in blood comes to the passengers. The team sends a baggage camera down the ramp where baggage enters the airport terminal and arrives at the baggage belt and they uncover several blood spatters inside the ramp. Meanwhile, Kyle gets better at his new job in the morgue and Calleigh and Delko share a lovely moment while searching the plane.
A young woman almost loses her life when someone breaks into her house, stabs her and leaves her dying on the floor waiting for 911 to arrive. However, the danger isn’t over yet, when the man returns while Calleigh is searching the house and puts a bag over her face, attempting to strangle her to death. Meanwhile, Horatio uncovers that the Russian mob has targeted his team, resulting in a shootout with a suspect shot in the head. Later on, Ryan is kidnapped from his car and the CSI’s must hurry to find him.
Ryan is kidnapped by men working for a Russian mob boss, Ivan Sarnoff, but is then released and forced to frame a man for murder and clean up a crime scene when he is kidnapped. His refusal would mean the death of a boy they have kidnapped. The boy is the son of Ryan's former Gamblers Anonymous sponsor, who was responsible for Sarnoff being in jail.
When a couple is disturbed by the loud noise of a wood chipper at 08:00 in the morning, the man in the relationship takes a video camera down to the street to record his complaints about the noise. However, when blood comes shooting out of the chipper, the man becomes the witness of a murder. He tells the CSI’s that the gardener was the person who fell into the machine, but when the gardener walks into the crime scene just seconds later, the team realizes that they are dealing with an unknown individual. Meanwhile, Horatio faces off against an old enemy whom he thought was dead, Ron Saris, and apparently, he has put Julia’s life in jeopardy.
The CSI’s investigate how a reality dating show could turn into a crime scene when a bachelor is about to propose to one of the remaining two women, but winds up holding her hand after she is discovered dead in the limousine. The team finds out that the killer had crawled into the limousine while the driver had a break and had pushed a large ice cube into her stomach. Meanwhile, Kyle sees Tara take a pill in the morgue and doesn’t believe her when she says it was aspirin.
After a grenade blows up in a Miami restaurant, the team focuses their investigation on a family that was celebrating the father’s birthday. Horatio and Natalia also talk to the waiter that was serving the family and apparently her children had been taken by child services and she is forced not to tell the police anything. Meanwhile, one of the family members’ bodies is in the morgue for an autopsy, but when another grenade falls out of the pocket and explodes, not only are the lives of Ryan, Tara and Kyle in danger, but Ryan also finds out about Tara and her drug problem.
Ron Saris is once again involved in something criminal, and this time, he threw a man into a pool in which the man was boiled alive in. Afterwards, Horatio and Eric find out that the pool was filled with a very different sort of acid than normal. Meanwhile, Ryan finds Tara’s pills and reports it to Horatio, who is worried about Julia’s life when it completely goes out of control. It even goes as far as Julia taking Ryan, Kyle and Tara hostage in the morgue.
When Ivan Sarnoff gets sick at the prison, he is transported to a hospital in an ambulance. But the ambulance is attacked and crashes into a train, resulting in Ivan escaping. While the rest of the team investigates where Ivan is, Calleigh tries to prevent Eric from helping his dangerous father, but Eric does it anyway, putting his own life in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Yelina is kidnapped by Ivan and Horatio tries to save her.
The team is trying to locate Delko, who (in the previous season finale) was in a car accident in the Everglades and is now walking around covered in blood not knowing where he should go. After a big search, they finally manage to find him and get him to a hospital, where he goes in a coma. Meanwhile, Horatio flashes back 12 years to 1997 to recall how his team first met. He didn't have his sunglasses, Delko wasn't working as a CSI, "CSI" was called Special Investigations Unit, Calleigh was an intern and Frank had hair.
The CSI lab is attacked by an armed gunman who takes everyone inside hostage, including CSI Jesse Cardoza (coming from the LAPD). The gunman will only talk to Horatio, and the situation escalades when the hostages don’t want to do what he tells them. Afterwards, the situation becomes even more dangerous, when Horatio is forced inside with the hostages.
The team investigates why three volleyball players mysteriously dropped dead right after an exciting game, and Horatio notices that all three of them had burn marks under their feet, which leads the team to believe they were all electrocuted from wires in the sand. However, Calleigh and Jesse follow the wires, but end up on a dead end. Meanwhile, Calleigh and Delko testify their stories about the situation where Delko was shot last season (episode 725), and Ryan fears that they both might lose their jobs.
After a man seems to steal Howard Burgess’ private jet, the police board the jet to have a look and uncover the body of Burgess himself in the jet’s toilet. While investigating how the body got there and who the man who tried to take the jet was, the CSIs uncover the fact that Burgess was the most hated man in Miami because he stole money from people. Talking to his wife in public, the team’s interrogation is disturbed when everyone in Miami wants his wife dead as well.
When a virus from E. Coli strikes in Miami, it kills a young woman and her boyfriend, prompting Eric Delko and Alexx Woods to return to help their team. The CSIs split up to track down the source for the virus, leading Calleigh to a restaurant where the couple ate and Jesse Cardoza and Ryan to a farm where the virus grows on plants. Meanwhile, Eric tries to save a man who died from being brain dead, but when the rescue doesn’t go successfully, the death influences Eric so much that he decides to quit his job.
A wedding, which is supposed to be the happiest day of someone’s life, takes the wrong turn when the bride is missing her groom. Even worse, a policeman finds two groomsmen handcuffed together in a fountain, both suffering from a bad amnesia. Meanwhile, Calleigh and Cardoza find evidence that leads them to a bachelor party where the groom first got missing.
First part of the “CSI Trilogy” (second on CSI: NY and third on CSI). After a freaked out woman enters the CSI’s lab screaming and crying that her daughter has gone missing, Horatio puts himself and his team on the case. At the crime scene, Calleigh finds evidence of a violent abduction and every team member talk to the different people the girl talked to before she got lost. However, when the CSIs get their first real lead, it all connects to a very similar case in Las Vegas, resulting in Ray Langston (from CSI) to come to Miami to help them investigate.
In one of the most twisted cases yet, the CSIs investigate the odd case of how two cars managed to collide while one was almost standing still, and what baffles the team is that a woman in one car was killed, a man in the same car was injured, while the man in the other car was perfectly fine. However, Cardoza talks to the surviver’s wife, who claims the car her husband drove was stolen. Meanwhile, the surviving man mysteriously drops dead while in CSIs custody.
When a man at a party (which both Ryan and Cardoza are working undercover at) falls in a pool of deadly jellyfish, Cardoza risks his life by trying to get the man out of the pool. But when he can’t and the man dies, the CSI’s have a new case to investigate. However, confusions begin when the suspects have different stories on what happened and what caused it. Meanwhile, Delko and Calleigh deal with the victim’s wife, who desperately needs the insurance money. But when they call the insurance company, their investigation takes a small turn.
The lives of two CSI’s, Ryan and Natalia, are in critical danger when they arrive at a house that’s actually a meth lab on the inside. When they enter, the meth explodes and there may be dire consequences for both of them. Meanwhile, the rest of the team looks into the death of a man whose body was found in the trunk of a car, which was chased by two police cars and crashed. The driver tells Horatio he was forced to do what he did, but evidence suggests otherwise.
The CSI team hunts for a man who wears a mask, breaks into people’s homes, forces them into making him breakfast, only to kill them afterwards, but their investigation takes a very unexpected turn when Eric Delko shows up at the crime scene on the other side of the law; witness for the defense. Not only does this make the investigation tougher to solve, the team must also face the personal challenges of working the case with Delko observing and documenting their every move.
When Phoebe Nichols, a popstar named America’s Sweetheart, bursts into flames during a concert, doctor Loman and Horatio uncover that the dead body may not be their real victim. As evidence starts unraveling the case, it is revealed that the singer on stage was the popstar’s double, and now, Horatio and his team does not only have to solve the case of the dead singer on stage, but also find the real Phoebe Nichols.
The CSIs investigate a unique case where Russell Turner, a high school teacher, seems to have been sliced in half by a motorcyclist with a murder weapon like never before; a samurai sword. As the investigation continues, the team needs to delve into the world of Japenese mafias to find their killer. Meanwhile, Natalia suffers from the ear injury she got in the earlier explosion (810 "Count Me Out"), but when it results in a boy almost managing to kill her while she's searching Turner's home, her injury puts her and Ryan's lives in jeopardy.
Horatio and the CSIs must re-investigate an old case when a man's death penalty is brought into question and delayed for 24 hours because a witness claims she saw the murder from a location that's impossible, and Eric Delko returns. As the investigation keeps unraveling, the case just baffles the CSIs even more, and with time pressure, doubt is in their minds if this will be their first unsolved case.
When a dead body drops from the sky, Horatio and the CSIs believe the victim was a NASA astronaut and Dr. Tom Loman suspects the man died somehow in zero gravity. This causes the owner of the only private space travel in Miami to become a suspect.
