The scene opens with Hank awakening at Charlie’s to a text message from Carrie. It reads that she’s in town for business and wants to get together. Outside, Charlie is shown basking in the sun. Although he says he doesn’t want to see her, Hank begins singing her sexual praises, recalling the rare chemistry they shared; making it obvious that somewhere he is still attracted to her. Another text arrives. It conveys that she has a surprise for him, and Hank does not like surprises, especially from psychotic women who set his apartment on fire. Barely a minute or two later, there’s a knock at the door. Guess who! It’s Carrie, at Runkle’s doorstep to surprise Hank, and from the looks of it, he surely is surprised. She managed to keep a tab on Hank, like any good stalker would, by tracking his IPhone; a feature which she herself installed for the purpose.

She begins their meeting by immediately fondling Hank and proposing they head to the bedroom (she used language way more colorful than that…). Hank horny as usual takes Carrie up on her offer, and does what he does best. In fact, she’s so pleased with his performance that she thinks he has ‘added 7 years to her life’. After telling him she is considering taking a job in LA, the doorbell rings. Like most typical Californication situations, the timing could not be worse – Karen and Becca are at the door, hoping Hank will accompany them on a family outing. Leaving Hank in a quandary. Meanwhile, in flies Carrie and Hank is visibly reluctant to introduce the women. The women, however – Becca included -seem to be completely comfortable with the chance meeting.
Karen in fact goes as far as to invite the ‘couple’ to her house for dinner, in order to celebrate Richard’s new novel. Clearly Hank is not interested and he makes his displeasure quite apparent, but the women have spoken, and Hank is left helpless in the face of it. Meanwhile, back at Casa de Runkle, Lizzie is preparing Charlie for a blind date which she has set up. After inappropriately asking Lizzie to stay in and watch a movie, Charlie leaves Lizzie to her nanny duties and heads out into the wild for his date, visibly excited. Meanwhile, Karen & Richard, Stew & Marci, and Carrie & Hank are all sitting down to dinner, as planned earlier. Clearly there will be fireworks as is indicated from the line of conversation, and immediately the conversation turns to sex, confirming these doubts. Carrie begins to sing Hank’s sexual praises, as she has always been quite a fan of his, when it comes to that department.
Not one to be left behind; Richard counters with a remark about Karen’s ‘lioness’ nature, clearly leaving Karen squirming in her seat. More lewd talk ensues, and tension between Hank and Richard is becoming palpable, with a sexual competition of sorts brewing. Elsewhere, Charlie arrives at his date with a lovely older blonde, he is visibly excited. Charlie is unfortunately unable to work his magic; it results in their conversation being stale, and filled with awkward silences. Both mutually concede to their lameness; consequently the couple decides to spice up the content. Clearly there is juxtaposition between this evening and the one developing at Karen’s place. While, Charlie and his date are debating Kindles Vs IPads, the other crew is discussing vibrators Vs soundless devices.

Both, discussions about technology, but appealing to different senses. Things progress well for Charlie, and much to his delight, he finds himself in bed with his blind date. Once again much to his surprise and delight, she admits to being a virgin and wants Charlie to be her first, endowing him with honor. Although excited, Charlie is worried if he would be able to live up to her expectations, and if she really wants him to be her first time. But she manages to convince Charlie that it is indeed what she wants, convinced of her decision, he is on board. They begin their passionate interlude. But before anyone can get too excited and feel happy for him, one has to remember that this is Charlie Runkle.
Hence as usual the whole thing is a fiasco; Charlie is in and gone in an instant. His date the poor virgin is completely deflated and shocked, and who could blame her, what ensues is a lot of embarrassment on Charlie’s part, and a lot of disappointment on the part of the girl. Especially owing to the fact that it was her first time. Meanwhile, Becca walks into the dinner party, having returned home from a date with Tyler. Hank hates the idea of Becca still seeing the lying and cheating Tyler; the conversation turns ugly, and soon. While arguing with Karen over how best to change Becca’s mind, Carrie arrives at the conclusion that Hank is indelibly tethered to Karen and his old life. She had hopes for them but now appears to be completely over them, she makes the fact amply clear to Hank.

She consequently walks out in a huff, trampling on Hank’s good name, and thus breaking the party up. Later, Karen attempts to console Hank, who is hurt by hearing the truth from Carrie. He deserved all the things she said to him, is what Hank concludes. Hank tells Karen that he still has feelings for her. Karen assures Hank that she is in love with Bates, and that it’s over between them. Hank says that he clearly always felt that, probably until now. Hank tells her that he is still hopeful that his life with her and Becca would someday resume. The episode ends on this somber note.
