Recap

In New Cap City, Emmanuelle has given Joseph less conspicuous clothing and a drug called Amp, which is used in the game to elevate a player's reflexes and senses. The application of the drug has an immediate effect on Joseph's body. As they travel through city, the sight of a junkie leads Joseph to discover that Amp can be addictive because it goes right to the pleasure centres of the brain. As they discuss the merits of the lack of rules in the game, they are swarmed by aircrafts. Emmanuelle hands Joseph a gun, but distinguishes the game from reality and that her avatar isn't of her, only identifying herself as someone who's being paid to help him...
