Episode Notes
This episode was originally supposed to premiere on an undetermined date in January, 2011. About two months after making this announcement, Syfy unexpectedly bumped up the premiere date to October 5, 2010, which is, perhaps not coincidently, the same day of the Season 1.0 DVD release.
This episode reveals that Amanda survived her suicide attempt.
This episode takes place three weeks after the events of the "End of Line".
Ryan Robbins previously played the Armistice Officer in the Battlestar Galactica miniseries and later the character of Connor in the show's last two seasons. Two other former Galactica guest actors are Winston Rekert who played a priest in a couple of episodes, and Linnea Sharples who played Raptor pilot Lt. Emmitt "Sweetness" Jones in "Home", part 1.
This is the first episode of the series to take place on another colony outside of Caprica. Gemenon had been only seen once before in The Plan in the immediate aftermath of the Cylons' bombings.
Luke Camilleri originally read for the part of Diego, but was considered too young for the role.
Cultural References
The thugs who confront Zoe in New Cap City are visually reminiscent of the droogs in the 1971 film A Clockwork Orange. Director Eric Stoltz confirms the influence in the podcast commentary, as he is a confessed fan of the film.
